Enlightening

As a political scientist I have been on an exploration trying to understand why we as a country have become so polarized and that the values and outcomes both sides want are basically the same, but how we get there and what we are willing to do on that journey is so different.

I firmly believe that we give control of this country and our lives to people who poorly or even purposefully destroy what is in our individual and American societies best interests.

Why does this happen?
Why do we keep doing it?
How come it does not bring us together, but pulls us more apart?

I am still looking for these answers but recently someone far smarted then myself helped me to really understand what had changed in my lifetime, and that this one thing could be a proximate cause of this corruption of American life.

Michael Lewis author of Moneyball, The Blindside and The Big Short has put out a podcast called Against the Rules. It is about what happens to American Society when fairness can’t be enforced? From sports refereeing to Wall Street he examines the referees and the state of fairness.

I found this podcast to be a giant missing piece to my understanding. THIS IS A MUST LISTEN PEOPLE. I don’t care what your politics are, this is about all of us!
