I’m American, but I’ve been gravitating towards more Aussie media in general. Aussies are just happier and more vibrant! Aussie energy is what I’m trying to inject into my life more, and this is a fun one 💛

I started in 2026 at the 1st ep in 2019. They’re Millennials—don’t worry, they say it CONSTANTLY. They co-opt Gen X culture and claim it (then lump Gen X into Boomers-we’re not even close). They’re all straight but accuse ppl of queerbaiting (try looking up ‘queercoding’ and how closeted queer ppl use it in music lyrics, clothing choices and videos—like being in a glass closet as the opening shot of their video) and virtue signal A LOT-esp for queer ppl-without doing anything for the community. True journalists don’t insert themselves into their coverage—so this isn’t journalism, it’s an opinion piece. It’s a vanity podcast under the flag of “clickbait-free, sourced, feminist journalism”. It’s complete with Anti-Choice ads, judgements towards women as parents (while not being one), and heavily criticize women- like the one who fought against a famous man calling her a name in a song, excusing it as “it’s part of rap culture”. Never mind the same two embarrassing too-long ads with either the host interviewing the same 3 ppl for 7 years or the one crowing abt how “edgy and feminist” they are with the channel. I just wanted the gossip, not this soul-crushingly derivative nonsense posing as cutting edge feminism. It’s embarrassing and disrespectful—esp to us in the cultures and communities they speak for without having been asked that have ACTUALLY done the work. Pass.
