Speak Your Truth ~ How Honest Conversation Can Deepen Intimacy In Your Relationship | 'ask dorothy' | The WISDOM podcast | S5 E176

'ask dorothy' Speak Your Truth How Honest Conversation Can Deepen Intimacy In Your Relationship The WISDOM Podcast with Dorothy Zennuriye Juno   How well can someone truly know us if we aren't allowing ourselves to be fully known? Two people can love one another, build a life together and share decades of experiences — and still hold back parts of themselves. Not necessarily secrets. Sometimes it's a preference. A disappointment. Something you need. Something you want but haven't asked for. Something you've changed your mind about. Something your partner does that bothers you. Something you think or feel but decide is easier not to say. In this episode of The WISDOM Podcast, we explore what it means to speak your truth in an intimate relationship — and why honest conversation can become an invitation into deeper intimacy. Speaking your truth isn't about saying everything that enters your mind or using honesty as permission to be insensitive or cruel. Relational honesty asks for something more: ownership, care and a willingness to let another person know what is true for you. We explore why some of us learn to accommodate rather than speak, how seemingly small moments of withholding can accumulate over time, and why there is an important difference between peace and simply avoiding the truths that might disturb one another. You'll also learn a simple practice for beginning these conversations: giving your truth a preface — helping your partner understand that you're not trying to attack or necessarily asking them to fix something; you're practising allowing yourself to be known. And because intimacy requires both speaking and listening, we turn the question around: Am I someone my partner can be honest with? Can I become curious before I become defensive? Can I hear my partner's preference without interpreting it as rejection? Can I make room for their experience even when it differs from mine? Because the goal isn't always agreement. Perhaps it is something more intimate: Two people willing to know — and to be known.   ✨ In This Episode We explore: What it really means to speak your truth in a relationship Why truth without ownership and care can become hurtful rather than intimate How to use a preface when honest communication is new for you or your relationship Why years of accommodation can quietly hide parts of who we are The difference between relational honesty and indiscriminate honesty What it means to have the courage to become knowable How small truths can become seeds for deeper conversation Why receiving your partner's truth is as important as speaking your own How curiosity can help us listen without immediately becoming defensive Why intimacy doesn't require agreement How two people can continue discovering one another even after decades together   🌿 A Question to Carry Perhaps there are two questions to sit with: What haven't I been allowing my partner to know about me? It might be a preference. A feeling. A longing. Something you need. Something you've changed your mind about. Something you'd like more of — or less of. And then: How safe do I make it for my partner to tell me their truth? Perhaps intimacy isn't created by knowing everything about one another. Perhaps it grows through a continuing willingness to say: I want you to know me. And I still want to know you. Because loving someone doesn't mean we've finished discovering them.   💜 Stay Connected There is so much more waiting for you inside JUNO — meditations, wisdom, contemplative teachings and practices for living consciously, compassionately and wholeheartedly. Begin Again ~ A Gentle Invitation to Live ANEW | The WISDOM podcast | S5 E175

Begin Again A Gentle Invitation to Live ANEW The WISDOM Podcast with Dorothy Zennuriye Juno   scroll to bottom to listen What if beginning again didn't mean starting over? What if it meant pausing long enough to notice where you are now — what matters, what has changed, what you are ready to choose, and what may quietly be asking to begin within you? In this episode of The WISDOM Podcast, Dorothy invites you into the heart of ANEW — a 30-day journey of gentle new beginnings that begins September 1st inside JUNO. ANEW isn't a challenge. And you don't need to meditate every day, have a journaling practice, or consider yourself particularly self-aware to begin. You simply begin where you are. Throughout September, ANEW offers a gentle daily rhythm for becoming more present to your life: a morning reflection and invitation, space to journal if you choose, an Evening Return, occasional guided audio practices, and weekly live ANEW Gatherings. But beneath all of this is a much simpler invitation: What wants to begin within you now? Perhaps there is something you want to return to. Something you are ready to make room for. A way you want to feel. A choice you have been postponing. Something you've outgrown. Something that matters more than you've been allowing yourself to acknowledge. Or perhaps you don't know yet. ANEW gives you somewhere to begin discovering. ✨ In This Episode Dorothy explores what it really means to begin again — not by discarding the life you've already lived, but by listening more closely to the person you are now. You'll hear about: why September can offer a natural threshold for reflection and renewal the difference between starting over and beginning again how small moments of awareness can begin to change the way you participate in your life why you don't need an established meditation or journaling practice to experience ANEW the gentle daily rhythm of the 30-day journey the journal, Evening Returns, guided audio practices and weekly live Gatherings that accompany you how ANEW can help you notice what you want to carry forward — and what you may be ready to choose differently why this journey is designed to be returned to each year, meeting you differently as your life changes ANEW is ultimately an invitation to spend a month in conscious relationship with your own life. Not fixing yourself. Not becoming someone else. Not getting thirty days “right.” But noticing. Listening. Choosing. And allowing what matters to become a little more visible. 🌿 A Question to Carry What wants to begin within me now? You don't need to have the answer. Perhaps September can simply become the place where you begin to listen. 💜 Begin ANEW ANEW begins September 1st inside JUNO. Your journey includes the complete 30-day experience, your ANEW journal, weekly live ANEW Gatherings, guided audio practices and a private space to move through the month together. You can enter exactly as you are. ANEW is not about starting over. It is about beginning from where love has already brought you. Come home. Let's begin again — gently. 💗   💜 Stay Connected There is so much more waiting for you inside JUNO — meditations, wisdom, contemplative teachings and practices for living consciously, compassionately and wholeheartedly. ✨ Explore JUNO and discover what speaks to you. 🎧 If this episode resonated, share it with someone who may be ready for a gentle new beginning of their own.   💗 And follow The WISDOM Podcast with Dorothy Zennuriye Juno wherever you listen, for more conversations, teachings and practices for your inner life.   With love, Dorothy Zennuriye Juno Sharing the wisdom and beauty of divine love with you... Wanting to Want It: Understanding Desire — and Creating More Room for Pleasure | 'ask dorothy' | The WISDOM podcast | S5 E174

'ask dorothy' Wanting to Want It Understanding Desire ~ and Creating More Room for Pleasure The WISDOM Podcast with Dorothy Zennuriye Juno   scroll to bottom to listen   What happens when you love your partner... but don't particularly feel like having sex? Or when you miss wanting sex — perhaps even more than you miss sex itself? In this episode of The WISDOM podcast, we explore one of the most tender and often misunderstood experiences within long-term relationships: the changing nature of sexual desire. Desire doesn't always arrive spontaneously. Sometimes it emerges through closeness, touch, pleasure, emotional safety and the experience of beginning. And when two people experience desire differently, an unexpected relational conundrum can appear: one person may seek sexual intimacy as a way of feeling emotionally connected, while the other may need emotional connection before sexual desire has room to emerge. Neither experience is inherently wrong. But without understanding the difference, couples can begin interpreting each other's behaviour as rejection, pressure, indifference or lack of love. Together, we'll explore spontaneous and responsive desire, desire discrepancy, the relationship between emotional and sexual connection, and why pleasure itself can become an important pathway back to wanting. Most importantly, this conversation invites us away from the question: “What's wrong with my desire?” and toward something far more compassionate and useful: “What are the conditions in which my desire comes alive?” Because sometimes wanting doesn't begin with desire. Sometimes it begins with closeness. With feeling understood. With affection. With touch. With pleasure. With allowing the body enough time to discover what it wants. A conversation about sex, yes. But perhaps even more... a conversation about how we find our way toward one another. 💗 ✨ In This Episode We explore: why sexual desire may change over the course of a relationship spontaneous and responsive desire — and why understanding the difference matters what happens when partners experience different levels or pathways of desire the relationship between emotional closeness and sexual connection how pressure, expectation and feeling obligated can interfere with wanting why pleasure can matter independently of spontaneous desire creating conditions in which desire has an opportunity to emerge communicating about sex without turning desire into a measure of love finding a more compassionate way back to intimacy 🌿 A Question to Carry Rather than asking yourself: Why don't I want sex more often? Try asking: What helps me feel open to desire? What helps you feel connected? Safe? Playful? Present in your body? Free from pressure? Able to receive pleasure? Curious about your partner? There may be important information in your answers. 💜 Stay Connected If this conversation has stirred something in you, there's more waiting inside JUNO — meditations, wisdom, practices and tools for living more consciously, compassionately and wholeheartedly. ✨Grateful Glow ~ A Meditation for Receiving the Good That Is Already Here | The WISDOM podcast | S5 E 173

scroll to bottom to listen Grateful Glow ~ A Meditation for Receiving the Good That is Already Here The WISDOM Podcast with Dorothy Zennuriye Juno   'What would it look like to let this gratitude change the way I meet my life?'   What changes when gratitude becomes something we experience rather than something we try to feel? Grateful Glow is a gentle anchoring meditation for noticing and receiving what is already meaningful in your life — without denying what is difficult or asking yourself to manufacture positivity. Through breath, awareness and quiet reflection, you'll be invited to notice something you appreciate, recognize something within yourself that deserves acknowledgement, and experience the subtle shift that can happen when your attention rests for a moment on what is good, meaningful and sustaining. This isn't gratitude as an obligation. It's gratitude as another way of seeing — a way of allowing the goodness that is already present to register more fully within you. You'll be invited to: arrive gently in the present moment notice something in your life that you genuinely appreciate allow gratitude to be felt rather than performed acknowledge something within yourself with appreciation experience gratitude without dismissing difficulty notice the warmth, softening or quiet recognition that appreciation may bring identify something meaningful you want to carry with you return to your day with greater awareness of the good that is already here 🌸 A little WISDOM to take with you Gratitude doesn't require a perfect life. It doesn't ask you to overlook what hurts or convince yourself that everything is good. Sometimes gratitude is much quieter than that. It is the moment you notice: This matters to me. I'm grateful this is part of my life. There is goodness here that I want to receive. And perhaps that is the glow. Not something we manufacture. Not something we have to hold onto. But the quiet light that appears when we allow ourselves to recognize what is meaningful. You don't have to search for something extraordinary to feel grateful. You can notice what is already meaningful. You can receive the good that is here. And you can let it illuminate the way you live. Pause. Notice. Receive. Glow. ✨   💜 Stay connected If this practice has stirred something in you, there’s more waiting inside JUNO — meditations, wisdom, practices and tools for living more consciously, compassionately and wholeheartedly.   Explore JUNO And if you found this episode meaningful, please share it with someone who might need to hear it. 💜   Find more from The WISDOM podcast With love, Dorothy Zennuriye Juno Sharing the wisdom and beauty of divine love with you...
