Christian Outdoors Podcast is owned and operated by Christian Outdoor Adventures, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit operating in Taylors, SC. In 2019, after a lot of prayer and research, founder and host, Pete Rogers launched Christian Outdoors Podcast with one drive and mission. "To talk about all things outdoors and how to enjoy God every day." Through his 25 years as an outdoor writer, author, and speaker. Pete learned that any of the folks in the outdoor arena were Christians without a platform to express their faith. Cable television shied away from overt or subtle mentions of Christianity. Publications were clear, that no mention of God, much less Jesus was not allowed. This left a void for many who live for Christ but who also need to make a living with their product(s). On October 1, 2019, the first episode was released with the commitment to release one episode a week for one full year and then re-evaluate. After that first year, the momentum was slow, but Pete felt that he needed to keep going. The model is simple; Pete interviews stakeholders in the outdoor community and they discuss their passion for the outdoors, and we follow that with a discussion about their individual faith journey. On a regular basis, Pete will bring in two pastors who share his passion, tackle tough theological issues, and share their insight into what the Bible says about that particular subject. Pete has a deep passion for the outdoors, spending more than 200 days a year in the outdoors, hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing wherever he can. But his passion for sharing the good news of Jesus is what drives him to continue to grow the podcast and reach as many people as he can through this medium. We are just getting started, and with God's blessing, and the support of key partners, this ministry will continue to grow and reach folks with the good news of Jesus.

    476 - Devotions - We All Need Help Sometimes!

    In this episode of Devotions with Christian Outdoors, Jon reflects on the book of Philippians, specifically the circumstances of its writing. Paul, the Apostle, is under house arrest in Rome, yet he finds a way to minister to others and use his situation for the glory of God. The book of Philippians is one of the prison epistles, written by Paul while he's in custody. Despite the challenges he faces, Paul's effectiveness as a leader requires him to speak to other believers and ask for help. He learns to pivot his circumstances and use them as an opportunity for training and teaching. The speaker highlights the importance of recognizing when we need help, just like Paul did, and being willing to ask for it. The episode also touches on the theme of community and interdependence in the church. Jon shares a personal story about learning to accept help from others during a difficult time in his life. He emphasizes that even the most gifted and called leaders need to recognize their limitations and rely on others. This is seen in the lives of Paul and his companions, Timothy and Epaphroditus, who provide support and help during his time of need. As we listen to this episode, we're encouraged to reflect on our own lives and recognize when we need to ask for help. We're reminded that we're not alone in our struggles and that God has given us the corporate body of Christ to support us. In his 30s, Brion’s life took another transformative turn when Kelly’s father introduced him to Christ.     473 - Finding Strength as a Hunter with Twin Factor TV hosts Chad and James Hampton

    Two for the price of one or as the new acronym today is BOGO.  Chad and James Hampton are ordained pastors, and cofounders of Huntin’ the Truth Ministries and cohosts of the Twin Factor outdoor reality show, which debuted in 2015 on the Pursuit Channel on Dish and DirecTV. After winning a “Top TV Show Series” award at the 2024 National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) International Media Convention, the show began airing on five Christian TV networks, including the TCT Network, theDove, and KCHF TV-11 on Dish and DirecTV. Chad and James both graduated from Rochester Christian University with degrees in biblical studies. Chad is the lead pastor at Goodland Community Church in Imlay City, Michigan.     471 - When Royalty Meets the Outdoors

    Today we’re joined by someone who has spent more than three decades living, working, and serving in the outdoor industry—by many he is considered Royalty in the outdoor space,  and indeed his family thought so as well when they named him Royal. Royal Peterson got his start in the outdoors at just 14 years old, competing at the BASS Federation level. From there, his passion for fishing and hunting grew into a career that has spanned more than 30 years. For the past 14 years, Royal has served as Director of Operations at Missouri Hunting and Fishing Adventures, one of the largest outfitting operations in the Midwest. His influence goes far beyond the field and the water. Royal has taught casting and angling at the university level, coached high school bass fishing, and played an instrumental role in bringing high school fishing to Missouri, as well as helping with angler education through the Missouri Department of Conservation. Over the years, Royal has appeared on ESPN2 Outdoors TV, ESPN Radio, the Pursuit Channel, Sportsman Channel, and numerous other networks. He has also guided and appeared on nationally syndicated programs including Babe Winkelman Outdoor Secrets, Small Town Hunting, Mossy Oak TV, Just Killin Time TV, Open Season Outdoors, and Schooled by Denny Brauer, just to name a few. But as impressive as his career in the outdoors has been, that's not what matters most to Royal. He is a Christian who is passionate about using the outdoors as a platform to share his faith and point others to Christ.     In the outdoor world we tend to be gear junkies. We love gear, plain and simple. One of the most important pieces of gear is our boots. In fact you will find large factions of people who are "boot snobs". I don't think I put myself in that category. But I am particular about my boots. And when I discovered LITE BOOTS.  A few years ago. My life and outdoor life changed dramatically.  Today we have joining us Mr. Brooks Tinsley, Brooks is the mastermind, founder and owner of LITE BOOTS. A lifelong passion for hunting and the outdoors inspired him to create a “better” boot – one built to withstand more than a single season of hard use . Frustrated by the lack of durability in existing footwear, Brooks set out to design boots that were super lightweight, and could depend on year after year. For hunters who are constantly in wet conditions, LITE BOOTS is a total game changer.  Beyond business, Brooks is a devoted Christian, husband, and father.
