Knowing: Robin Williams

Chances are Robin Williams has made you laugh, cry -- or cry laughing! -- at least once in your lifetime. From sweaty standup riffs to sitcom mayhem as Mork from Ork, to a powerful Oscar-winning performance in Good Will Hunting, Robin was an artist who was constantly pushing his craft. But behind these displays of brilliance was an isolated and often misunderstood man. From Macmillan Podcasts, Knowing: Robin Williams takes you inside the lawless and brilliant mind of one of America’s most beloved comedians. Join New York Times reporter Dave Itzkoff and host Kristy Westgard as they share never-before-heard interviews and thoughtful analysis to celebrate the life and legacy of a comedic genius.

Just what I needed

Finally catching up on HBO’s documentary about Robin, I was left wanting much more. This podcast provides that — the extra details, deeper psychological considerations, filmography, and updated, nuanced reflection on his passing.
Insightful and entertaining

Wonderful podcast! Robin Williams was a game changer for the comedy world. I am a child of the eighties and grew up watching his movies and loving them. He was a phenomenal actor. After listening to the podcast, I have realized that he was a phenomenal human also. His unique voice is sorely missed especially in these somewhat strange and weird times. Thank you for creating a wonderful podcast!
Great story, terrible host

I’m so distracted by trying to understand how the host can seem to be both over- and under-enunciating at the same time. She’s seriously awful.
Episode 4 broken

There are outtakes we should be hearing that are missing; just blank audio. This needs to be fixed because it sounds like a funny bit.
Outstanding

Very interesting and concise, full of details and audio clips. It was wonderful to have the chance to follow along the path of Robin's rise and eventual drifting down of his brilliant star. He is sorely missed and this was a great and respectful telling of his life that I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn about this legendary man.
Could be great

The narrator has a lot of room for improvement. The journalist is quite good however.
Narrator
02/27/2020
Three episodes in, and I agree with other reviews, the narrator could use some work. Her diction is poor to the point of being distracting. Journalism is good. The guests are a little tangential at times. Will continue to listen because I’m interested in the life of Robin Williams.
So good
