    17. The Shadow (1994)

    17. The Shadow (1994)

We might be living in the golden age of superhero movies now, but the '90s were... not that. However, while the big-name heroes weren't often on the big screen, plenty of smaller ones were, and that includes The Shadow, a hero with an absolutely insane backstory. For a superhero movie from 1994, 'The Shadow' does a lot of things well, especially in the effects department, and Alec Baldwin is great in it. Dig in!

    16. Daylight (1996)

Now here is an underrated gem of the '90s disaster movie craze. 'Daylight' stars Sylvester Stallone as a former (and disgraced!) New York City EMS chief who enters a collapsed tunnel to save a small group of survivors inside. Though it lays on the cheese pretty thick at times, it's worth viewing for the special effects and a reliable Stallone performance.

    15. Deep Impact (1998)

    15. Deep Impact (1998)

In 1998, we were blessed with not one but two asteroid-on-a-collision-course-with-earth movies, starting with 'Deep Impact.' While most people often think more of 'Armageddon,' this one still has plenty of disaster-movie goodies to offer.

    14. Leprechaun (1993)

    14. Leprechaun (1993)

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, we're talking about Jennifer Aniston's feature film debut: Leprechaun! This 1993 horror-comedy spawned what would become an EIGHT-MOVIE series, which is... wild. Word has it you're guaranteed the Presidential Medal of Freedom if you manage to sit through all eight without your eyes and ears bleeding.

    13. Wag the Dog (1997)

    13. Wag the Dog (1997)

Political movies in the '90s were REALLY good at predicting what would happen to the country, and 1997's 'Wag the Dog' was no different. This political satire - starring Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman - about a fake, manufactured war used to cover up a presidential sex scandal was eerily prescient, as the Monica Lewinsky scandal would break just weeks after the movie was released. This movie was also great at predicting our current state of political affairs, which is... pretty bleak!

    12. Outbreak (1995)

    12. Outbreak (1995)

If you've got serious fears about a virus wiping out humanity, this is the movie for you. 'Outbreak' is a 1995 blockbuster featuring an all-star cast that features a deadly virus that kills you in a matter of hours and the U.S. military desperate to nuke an American city. It also features the same monkey that played Marcel in 'Friends,' which probably gets top billing over Dustin Hoffman for most people these days.
