These are...not optimistic times for most Americans. Across the world, the dangers of climate change and the terror of creeping authoritarianism present an increasing danger to all of us. After covering this degeneration for four years, Robert Evans went looking for hope. He found it in the unlikeliest of places: Northeast Syria, in a region known as Rojava that’s become host to a feminist, anti-authoritarian revolution. When you’ve heard about these folks in the mainstream media, they’re usually just described as the “Syrian Kurds”, and credited with beating ISIS. They did, in fact, beat ISIS. But their military successes were just part of the story. In The Women’s War, Robert will introduce listeners to dozens of men and women fighting a war for the future of the human soul.

Captivating and inspirational podcast. I listened to all episodes in less than 20 hrs, learned many new things. Time well spent. Thank you.
Great show but no transcript?

I tried going to the website they say you can find the transcript and I couldn’t find it. But the show brought me to tears
Really beautiful piece of journalism

I listen to other podcasts by Robert Evans and only recently found this. This is an inspiring, subtle, and intelligent glimpse into a community and culture that is not readily found in US media. I’m a news nerd - I read a lot of newspapers and listen to a lot of deep dive podcasts and haven’t heard anything like this. It’s just beautiful.
Beautiful

Completed in one day. A beautiful written story the was a small break from America’s hectic reality.
Black women

It is bizarre to assert black women have been oppressed “from start of time’ black people have been oppressed since coming into contact with the barbarism of Europeans not since the start of time,
I binged the whole thing-

In one day. I’m pretty sure I need to listen again. This is an inspirational story. It’s helped my overwhelmed apathy, with interviews of people working together for self determination.
Probably Robert Evans’s best podcast so far

This was an amazing listen, on par with It Could Happen Here. Audio is a little hard to hear, especially when on a walk, but I’ll definitely be listening to this a second time once I’m done (I’m on the last episode). Terrific journalism.
Wow

Terrific journalism
Why is this show hosted by a man?
12/14/2020
I really dislike so called “women” podcasts that are hosted by men. Defeats the point for me, there are so many excellent women journalists that could do a better job on this.
