    Nate visits with Bethany Adams to talk about the release of her new book, "Unsupported," which is out now. Nate is joined by co-host Rich Turnbull for this episode, recorded at Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown. One of the most well-known climbers in the Adirondacks, Adams holds more than 100 FKT records across the region’s toughest terrain. In "Unsupported," she tells the story of attempting to hike all 46 Adirondack High Peaks in one continuous effort while chasing the fastest known finishing time. She is very open in this interview, sharing what she was going through in her personal life and how it helped her push toward a challenge that once seemed impossible. A Cherry Valley native who now lives in Lake Placid, she also talks about how her love for outdoor adventure began while growing up in the woods and fields around her family farm.

    Nate catches up with Sidney’s Bella Phelps following her first New York State girls wrestling championship. Bella went 45-1 this season and topped the podium at 114 pounds in Albany. She was dominant in the tournament, winning her final match 11-1. Bella is a sophomore with more than 100 career victories and is the first girls wrestling state champion in school history. She talks about her renewed focus this season and how she locked in mentally to get the job done. This conversation was recorded right after Bella’s celebration parade on Main Street in Sidney.

Genevieve is headed to play Division-I at Syracuse University after helping WP win five state championships during her career. She explains why SU was the right fit and discusses the commitment required to compete at the next level, from travel ball demands to managing stomach issues with a strict diet. Nicole shares insight into the culture behind the Eagles’ historic success and what it takes to keep the program performing at such a high level. She also reflects on the unique experience of coaching both of her daughters, Genevieve and Anah, while balancing the roles of mom and coach. Often described as the steady voice behind the dynasty, Nicole talks about what has fueled the Eagles’ remarkable run.

    The Nate Lull Podcast, Gold Medal Edition: Haley Winn from the U.S. Women's Hockey Team

    Nate makes a special trip to Boston to sit down with Haley Winn of the U.S. Women’s Hockey Team following her gold medal performance at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Italy. Haley grew up in Rochester and also has strong family ties to Bainbridge, where she has spent significant time over the years. That local connection makes this moment even more meaningful. She played a major role on the blue line for Team USA during the tournament, recording one goal, three assists, and a +11 rating. After a decorated Division-I career at Clarkson University, Haley was drafted second overall by the Boston Fleet in the 2025 Professional Women’s Hockey League Draft. This special presentation is broken into three parts: Nate’s introduction, a press conference with Haley and the media, and an exclusive one-on-one sit-down with Nate.     Nate is joined by Rob Joy inside the Morris Central School Auditorium, along with co-host Rich Turnbull. Rob was back in town as his Morris Boys Basketball career scoring record of 1,251 points was being surpassed by current senior Ryan Murphy, giving the guys a perfect reason to sit down and reflect. They look back on Rob’s memorable career in the late 1980s, including the start of the MCS Express, a 19-game winning streak, and a heated rivalry with New Berlin. Rob also shares his path to playing Division-I at Bucknell as a walk-on and reflects on where life has taken him since. Now living in Cincinnati, it was great to catch up while he was home for a short time.

Nate and co-host Rich Turnbull uncover the story of a Major League Baseball pitcher from the early 1900s whose journey eventually brought him right to our own backyard. In this special edition, the guys explore the life and legacy of “Slow Joe” Doyle, known for his deliberate pace on the mound during baseball’s early days. From his time in the big leagues to the famous baseball card mix-up that made his name legendary among collectors, the conversation transports listeners to a different era of the game. It also looks at Doyle’s life after baseball and how he eventually settled in Tannersville, New York, in the eastern part of Section IV. Special thanks for this project goes to Rich Turnbull for his research and baseball card collecting knowledge. Thank you to Brackon Banks for his talented voice work in the opening. He now works as a Public Information Specialist for DCMO BOCES, serving the Sidney and Walton school districts. P.J. is also an adjunct instructor at SUNY Delhi. In this episode, the guys discuss the state of local media, share some great memories, and dive into mental health, including why P.J. made important changes and the advice he now shares with others.

A 2025 OHS grad, Bruce played in a Jackets program that enjoyed major success in recent years, including Section IV titles in 2022, 2024, and 2025. He talks about the recruiting process and what helped guide his college decision, along with the unique challenge of wanting to both pitch and hit at the next level. Bruce also looks back on some of his favorite memories with the Oneonta baseball program.
