    The Distortion of Definition

In today’s conversation, we look at a more nuanced layer of the not-self by examining the “distortion of definition.” Rather than focusing only on conditioning in undefined centers, we explore how external pressure, rejection, and early-life dynamics can also contort or suppress the very life force that is meant to be consistent and reliable within us. Through practical examples and channel-level discussion, we consider how innate capacities can become redirected by the insecurities of openness, how roles in families and groups can hijack natural energy, and what it means to reconnect with our own inner intelligence. Themes include self-abandonment, right relationship, empowerment through circuitry, and the difference between healthy expression and compulsive performance. Ultimately, this episode invites a deeper inquiry into deconditioning, not only as letting go of not-self strategies, but as restoring trust in the specific, living intelligence of one’s definition and allowing it to move with greater ease, clarity, and authenticity.  To connect with the hosts, visit: Amy Lee, Human Design Analyst & Guide at holiatry.com John Cole, Human Design Analyst & Guide at metamorphicsystems.com For more information about the Human Design Collective and to support our work, please visit: https://humandesigncollective.com/ For Human Design courses and workshops, visit: https://courses.humandesigncollective.com Human Design Collective Podcast music "Stars of the Unexpected" by Meg Ruby and Anders Parker. Spotlight: The Art of Seeing and the Evolving Human Design Landscape

Our spotlight episodes explore current themes related to Human Design. They are intended to support both newcomers seeking understanding and experienced students seeking clarity, depth, and a renewed perspective. In this episode, we reflect on the rapidly evolving knowledge landscape in the age of widespread online resources and AI. We discuss the shift from information delivery to meaningful human connection, the importance of digestion and timing, and the value of meeting people with what is most relevant about their design in the moment. The conversation also explores the growing need for embodied wisdom, seeing before doing, experimentation through recognition rather than rules, and the role of practitioners as companions. The episode closes with an introduction to The Art of Seeing series, a collaborative practicum focused on synthesis, lived experience, and the development of one’s own authentic voice and perceptual style in working with the Human Design knowledge. Jenni Crowther on living in the moment, intuitive awareness, projection and formality, and the importance of embodiment

Jenni Crowther is a 5/1 Splenic Projector on the Left Angle Cross of the Clarion. She brings a bright combination of precision, insight, and humility to her work with Human Design, which she has been immersed in since 2016. In this episode, Jenni shares her journey of deep surrender to the body’s wisdom, explaining how her health and decisions are guided not by conceptual understanding but by felt experience and moment-to-moment awareness. We explore the fifth line profile in detail, the shift from screen-based learning to embodied presence, the desire for genuine connection, and what it means to be in alignment through the body and consciousness using Human Design, as well as other teachings and practices. Her deep connection to the Rave Mandala, long-term dedication to her own experiment, and talent for pattern recognition all shine through in this episode. We hope you enjoy the conversation.
