Episode 194: Shootin’ the Shit - A Madman, An Imbecile, and a Bum

Episode 194: Shootin’ the Shit - A Madman, An Imbecile, and a Bum

We’re back with our bud Kenny to talk media criticism: History Channel re-enactments, classic movie musicals, craft versus consistency, the Octopus Murders, A24’s new Civil War movie, the Sopranos, Platonic, and overly friendly user experiences. Plus: the best insults from Latin American politicians, Obama-era fumbles, meditation tips, and as always, some utopian talk.

Apologies for the sound quality in this one. We had a lot of dog noises and Christine sounds like they’re recording in a distant, tinny tunnel.

Episode 193: The Mongolian People’s Republic

Episode 193: The Mongolian People’s Republic

We’re back to finish up our tale of how a rural country went from subsistence agriculture to amazing feats like reaching full literacy, building whole new towns, and even going to space! But despite all the cool things they did for their people, the Mongolian leadership still somehow had plenty of times for schemes, backstabbing, and purges.

kelsey630 ,

Thank you

Just binged the first three episodes! In the face of the new spending bill funding the genocide in Gaza, the illusion of our “democracy” is in crumbles. Your content is so important and very appreciated! Thank you, comrades!

Leah_Dragonfly ,

Love the show, learning a lot!

Now that I buttered you up lol,
Could you discuss the Smurfs being Communist?
I heard it elsewhere and it was a decent argument for it, but I think this show’s take on it would be entertaining.

JakeOllis ,

Enlightening, and inspiring.

I’ve been listing while at work and honestly it’s opened my eyes to how broken the system around us is. I’ve officially joined DSA! And I’m proud to donate and help the movement!
