Who Did What Now With Katie Charlwood

I get your videos from time to time on Facebook, but I just discovered your podcast this last week. I’m on episode 50 something now, and love every single one. I text my husband throughout the day of funny and interesting things that you’ve said, and I’ve learned a lot! I never much liked history when I was in school. I think too much of it was the pale, stale male variety, and whoever was teaching it forgot that history is just stories of people, and people are interesting! I’ve loved so many episodes – Saint Olga of Kyiv, all of the Tudor Queens, and I just about died laughing on the impotence trials and historical divorce episodes recently. And in the 1800s, they stored nails and other solids in barrels too- it’s not just liquids that go in barrels! If you ever get back to the United States and are in Kansas City, they have a museum from a shipwreck of what was essentially an 1800s JCPenney’s worth of home goods for prairie settlers that sank and was covered up and was unearthed in the 90s? And it’s just room after room of every day things. And I remember nails were in barrels.

Listen to this Irish chick!
