October Trends: Dogs, Elizabeth Holmes, and Mamdani’s Bathrooms

This week, Ashley, friend of the pod, joins for an episode that proves to be very New York City-centric. We start with an update on the Kelly Clarkson/Art of Play/bird drama and a live performance by the yassified “Feed the Birds” singer, Coco Marshall. Then we jump right into why Dena does….NOT hate dogs. However, videos by @ellenjoss and @lamibabyspeaks seem to resonate with Dena’s thoughts on dog-loving culture. Randomly Dena is also getting a lot of trampoline content? Like @whatifimjustagirl’s video about jumping for two hours, daily. Ashley is on a different side of TikTok, the “You Can See Everything” side (Elizabeth Holmes/Nathan Fielder documentary). NO SPOILERS are included in this funny parody video by @tommcgovern27. Another thing Ashley is good for is promoting art (said no one, ever). Specifically Romeo Beckham’s upcoming movie called Forty Love (@mtvuk). Now onto the New York City content… @nypl released a video talking about all the perks of the New York Public Library card and we are ON IT! One of Ashley’s favorite creators, @tastebuds_nyc, made a video about their trip to see their Bhutanese friend, Kinley, in Bhutan! And a new follow for Ashley are the NYC creators Mustafaa & Izzy (@mustafaa_simpson). Dena highlights a new follow for creator @katiegeorges who highlights popular gifts because ‘tis the season! And of course, the episode ends with creator @julez27_ experiencing the Mamdani public bathrooms for the first time.  Check out all the videos we mention and more on our website (2old4tiktok.com), Instagram (@2old4tiktokpod), and TikTok (@2old4tiktok_podcast).  Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. September 2026 on TikTok: US Open, Nupes, Aura Farming and more!

This week on 2 Old 4 TikTok Dena and Catalina dive in with Back to School content from @mr.newsomteachesband, who records his students’ first note in Beginning Band and Dena sharing her thoughts on the US Open. For FYP trends Dena highlights @cayydences’s September manifestation video and a second 'Yassified' cover from @sibuxiangswife. Catalina reports on the Nupe content coming across her algorithm from creators like @deathrownupes, @bpayne.8, and @kennethboylan, as well as @jacobkaplan17’s parody of Spanish teachers. The girls attempt to unpack the viral Aura battle trend coming out of Latin America and Spreading to Spain (@venntuuri_) and also spotlight @julianracingpr pronouncing toys. Next up they cover Julia Stiles’s arrival to the platform (@missjuliastiles) leading up to her debut on Dancing with the Stars, and in the Drama Segment they recap Millie's hair (@elijaaahhhhe), an almost perfect example of how TikTok discourse progresses (@specsstudios) and people joking about the singer Stella Lefty (@oh.its.ryan). Finally, they close with the Content Creator of the Week, @fxreverdxstiny, who plays dance hall songs until they get inappropriate.
