In a church culture that has spent years dissecting the failures of leaders, there is a conversation that has gone largely unaddressed -- the call placed on those who follow. This episode digs into that uncomfortable but necessary territory, drawing from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 and Hebrews 13 to lay out what Scripture actually demands of us as members of a spiritual community. The Bible does not merely call us to tolerate our leaders or evaluate them from a distance.     Episode 293 – In Over Your Head What if the very thing we fear most - being in over our heads - is actually the place God most wants us to be? In this episode of the Mavericks & Misfits Podcast, we explore a powerful vision from Ezekiel 47 that reframes what it means to live by genuine faith. The prophet Ezekiel is led through water that begins as a trickle and grows progressively deeper - ankle deep, knee deep, waist deep - until finally it becomes a river too deep to stand in. This is not a picture of drowning. It is a picture of divine design. The deeper Ezekiel goes, the more alive everything around him becomes. Trees line the banks. The water transforms what it touches. And the key detail we cannot miss is that Ezekiel did not wander into the deep on his own - he was led there. There are places in the kingdom we simply cannot reach without surrendering to being guided. As long as our feet can touch the bottom, we are still operating within the limits of our own strength and control. True faith begins where self-sufficiency ends. This isn't about becoming obsessed with demons or supposed extraterrestrial life forms, but about being biblically informed, spiritually discerning, and walking in the freedom that Christ purchased for us. The question is: Will we continue living beneath our spiritual inheritance, or will we rise up as the victorious church we're called to be?

In the civilized, educated West, there is a massive interest in the exploration of space for other life forms. We have seen quite a bit of “evidence” that something is out there. But what is it? Part one of this two-part podcast series on Demons and Aliens lays a foundation of how and why Satan and his soldiers might seek to derail the faith (or potential for faith) across the globe by convincing everyone that they are benevolent life forms from other planets.
