Nevertheless, he leads her minions and captures the Angel Investigations teams, minus Angel.     First, everything is fine. A new order has arrived, and she is eager to spread her gospel to the wider world. Angel and the team are ready to help her. But when an accident exposes Fred to a new truth, no amount of playacting will allow her to stay on message.   Then, Fred is a fugitive (again), hunted by her former friends. Jasmine plays her father and grandfather against one another (what, like it’s hard?).     First, the team tries to pick up the pieces now that they have Angel back. Cordelia acts totally normal in her all-black witchy maternity outfit. Connor continues to perfect his eternal sneer. Gunn, tired of being the muscle, joins Gwen on a side quest. Lorne, you in danger, girl.   Then, the revelation of Cordelia’s nefarious deception shatters the serenity at the Hyperion Hotel. Battle lines are drawn, and to no one’s surprise, Angel and his son are on opposite sides. Cordelia’s behaviour becomes increasingly unhinged, but Connor thinks this is fine. Cordelia gives birth, and according to one completely trustworthy demon, it’s the end of the world.     First, Faith recovers from her smackdown at Angelus’s hands. The team tries to regroup and shore up their defenses. Angelus lives it up in a demon bar in LA until he starts hearing a mysterious British man inside his head. The voice demands his obedience, and Angelus is not amenable.   Then, Faith’s desperate gambit to get inside Angelus’s head leaves her comatose but on a mystical joyride through flashbacks of Angel’s life. Wesley calls in a ringer to help pluck Angel’s soul out of the ether and restore it, but unbeknownst to the team, the opposition is coming from inside the hotel.   Hear us discuss… Petty Angelus gives us LIFE OK Fred, we forgive you Cordelia, could you possibly make this any creepier—oh, you can? But Angelus is eager to tangle with a slayer again, and he issues a personal invitation she can’t refuse. Oh, he also kills the Beast. Fortunately, the team has an immaculate track record for planning, and nothing could possibly go wrong.   Then, something goes terribly wrong! Angelus proves difficult to manipulate, while he plays all of the team like well-tuned fiddles.
