But Angelus is eager to tangle with a slayer again, and he issues a personal invitation she can’t refuse. Oh, he also kills the Beast. Fortunately, the team has an immaculate track record for planning, and nothing could possibly go wrong.   Then, something goes terribly wrong! Angelus proves difficult to manipulate, while he plays all of the team like well-tuned fiddles.     First, Angel has no time to process Cordelia and Connor’s new relationship status because the Beast is busy massacring its way through LA. When it turns Wolfram & Hart into a slaughterhouse, Angel couldn’t care less—until Wesley tells him Connor is trapped inside. Cue the reluctant team-up to rescue the prodigal son (and Lilah) while trying to figure out what the Beast wants.   Then, the team discovers the Beast has a plan to cast a literal shadow over Los Angeles. They race to stop its suckjob tour, but not even help from a shocking ally can stand in the way of this solid foe.     First, a spell meant to restore Cordelia’s memory goes awry. How could anyone have seen that coming? Regressed to their seventeen-year-old selves, the Angel Investigations team has to figure out who they are, why they’re together, and who among them is a bloodsucking fiend. Also, Connor shows up with extra angst.   Then, a new player in the apocalypse arrives, and there might be a connection between him and Connor. The threat level is so high Angel looks to unlikely places for assistance.     First, Gunn is finally living his dream: he’s going to Vegas, baby! The team tries to reconnect with Lorne, but he gives them the green shoulder. As Gunn and Fred stay on mission and investigate, Angel gets sidetracked and loses his destiny.   Then, Cordelia’s return to the mortal plane stuns everyone, especially because she has amnesia. When Angel fails to keep the trust, he pushes Cordy into Connor’s waiting arms and groping hands.
