I checked out The New Evangelicals hoping for genuine critique and nuance, but it’s just evangelical dogma swapped for progressive dogma. They’ve traded Bible Belt fundamentalism for woke fundamentalism, now preaching left-wing talking points dressed up as theology. Instead of sticking to their brand of progressive Christianity, they dive into politics—encouraging third-party voting and treating “Christian nationalism” like the ultimate evil—while completely ignoring Israeli power and the Torah’s theocratic roots. Co-host April is especially grating, shutting down any viewpoint outside her ideological bubble. It’s a shame they dominate so much of the deconstruction space, because their obsession with ideological purity leaves no room for honest, wide-angle exploration.
