A 5 step Practice to Navigate Challenges and Triggers

    • Join Louise for a live guided meditation followed by Q&A on Zoom every Saturday and Sunday (by donation): https://www.louisekay.net/zoom.html • Upcoming In-person Retreats:https://www.louisekay.net/retreats.htmlWhen your system is triggered or the pain body is activated, follow these 5 simple steps to remain present and non-reactive.1. Recognize that your system is triggered. If step 1 is not possible you will react unconsciously and there's nothing that you can do about it. If that happens, the moment you become aware again, simply remain present. Don't identify with thoughts that tell a story that "I failed", "why did I react like that?", "I should have been more present" etc. Reset and meet the moment fresh. Let the past go.2. Recognize that this challenge is an opportunity for your growth. Remain thankful because after all, you want to become more conscious right? So this is the best thing for you. Receive the challenge with gratitude and you will not be a victim to the situation.3. Recognize yourself as the aware witness. Don't identify with any thought that appears, simply observe thoughts. Don't identify with the experience of the body, simply give it permission to fully feel whatever it's feeling. Keep your attention light a laser light of presence, unmoving as the perceiver of the experience.4. Observe thoughts appearing and disappearing. Don't believe anything they say, don't try to stop, control or change them. Simply allow and witness the thoughts as a neutral observer.5. Bring your attention deeply present into the body. Just notice how the body feels and then gently move your attention closer to any uncomfortable sensations until you become one with them. Totally and completely surrender to the experience in the body.If there's a collapse into identification with the conceptual self during any part of the process, the moment that you become aware of it, start again at step 1.Louise Kay holds group events and retreats online and around the world. For more details visit http://www.louisekay.net/

Integrating Childhood Wounds from a Non-Dual Perspective

    • Join Louise for a live guided meditation followed by Q&As on Zoom every Saturday and Sunday (by donation): https://www.louisekay.net/zoom.html • Upcoming In-person Retreats:https://www.louisekay.net/retreats.html In this video Louise explains how to integrate childhood wounds from a non-dual perspective. There are two perspectives from which one can approach the subject of healing and integrating childhood wounds:1. The perspective of the conceptual self: from this perspective there is identification with an imagined character, referred to as 'I' and there is total identification with it. There is usually a belief that 'I' am not enough in some way (broken/traumatized/unlovable etc etc) and the motivation to heal these problems lies in the belief that one day in the future everything will be ok. Until that moment arrives there is a sense of lack and incompleteness (spoiler alert - that moment will never arrive).2. The perspective of 'me' awareness: from this perspective there is no identification with a separate, individual 'I', but a recognition that the true self is pure awareness, which is formless and invisible. As a side effect of abiding as awareness, unprocessed emotions, energies and unconscious conditionings are drawn out of the physical body and into the light of consciousness. There is peace before experience, during experience and also after experience. The process of integration and healing takes place on the level of form and is witnessed and surrendered to without agendas, effort or control.
