'I Thought Homeopathy Was Complete Lunacy' How One Remedy Changed Everything with Lisa Strbac

For once, the tables have turned and I’m the one being interviewed. I’m joined by my lovely friend Natasha Andreo, who takes me right back to the beginning, long before the Academy, the books or What Heals, when I was working in corporate tax, completely embedded in the conventional system and thought homeopathy was, quite frankly, complete lunacy. We talk about motherhood, losing my first baby, my eldest daughter becoming increasingly unwell and the questions that eventually led me to homeopathy. I share the experience with one particular remedy that changed everything, why I went from sceptic to completely obsessed almost overnight and what ultimately led me to leave one-to-one practice and find my real purpose in teaching.   We also explore why acute prescribing has become such an important part of my work, how the Academy, my books and PIHAP grew from that original mission, what I’ve learned about criticism and following your instincts and why I want more people to know that homeopathy exists.   This became a much more personal conversation than I expected, particularly when Natasha asked what I hope my daughters will one day understand about why I care so deeply about this work. That one got me. ❤️  Key Takeaways: How I went from the corporate world and complete scepticism to studying homeopathy The remedy experience that changed the trajectory of my life Why I moved away from one-to-one practice and towards teaching Why acute prescribing became central to my work and ultimately led to PIHAP Motherhood, regret, criticism and learning to trust the voice telling you to keep going If you’ve ever wondered why I do what I do, why I care so much about homeopathy and why I’ll probably never shut up about it, this is the episode. You Found the Root Cause. So Why Aren’t You Better? With Dr Jaban Moore

Dr Jaban Moore is a chiropractor and functional medicine practitioner who specialises in complex chronic illness, but what I love most about his work is that he refuses to reduce healing to a single protocol or a single root cause. In this conversation, we explore why so many people remain unwell despite eating well, taking supplements and doing everything they think they should be doing. We talk about mould, Lyme disease, parasites, nervous system regulation, trauma and the cell danger response, but perhaps the most important message is that healing is rarely about finding one missing piece. More often, it's about understanding the unique combination of burdens that have overwhelmed the body and using the right tools at the right time. One of the themes that runs throughout this episode is integration. Jaban openly discusses using herbs, homeopathy, functional medicine, lifestyle medicine and, where appropriate, conventional medicine, reminding us that true healing isn't about becoming attached to one modality, but about finding what the individual person needs. We also explore children with PANS and PANDAS, why trauma and toxins can produce remarkably similar patterns in the body and brain, and why trying to force healing too quickly can sometimes keep people stuck. If you've ever wondered why you've tried all the right things but still don't feel well, I think this conversation will give you a completely different way of looking at chronic illness. Key takeaways Why chronic illness is rarely caused by just one thingThe relationship between mould, Lyme disease, toxins and the nervous systemWhy trauma and toxins can trigger similar biological responsesUnderstanding the cell danger responseWhy some people react to almost every treatment they tryThe importance of reducing the body's total burden rather than chasing one root causeWhy healing often requires multiple therapies working togetherThe value of patience, consistency and realistic expectationsWe also talk about Dr Jaban's own journey through Lyme disease and mould illnessWhy chronic illness appears to be increasingFunctional medicine and the limitations of protocol-based healingHomeopathy as part of an integrative approachSupporting children with PANS and PANDASThe role of nervous system regulation in recoveryCase studies of recovery from complex chronic illnessWhy the right treatment at the wrong time can still be the wrong treatmentResources mentioned Dr Jaban's Website Dr Jaban's Redefining Wellness Center Dr Jaban's Instagram Send us Fan Mail Join Lisa's new global homeopathy community, The Atrium, here. What the Hell Is Going On? The Astrology Lowdown with Natasha Andreo

Natasha Andreo is back on What Heals, and quite frankly, I needed to get her back on to ask one very important question: what the hell has been going on? Natasha’s first episode, From the Stars to the Cells, became one of the most downloaded episodes of the podcast, and so much has happened since we last spoke. For many of us, the last year has felt enormous. Personally, it has been one of the most challenging periods of my life, and I know I’m far from alone in feeling that something has shifted. So what does the astrology actually say? Natasha takes us through the major astrological shifts of 2025 and 2026, why certain signs may have felt the intensity particularly strongly and what we could be moving into through the rest of 2026, 2027 and beyond. But, as always with Natasha, this conversation goes much further than astrology. We explore the ancient relationship between astrology, astronomy and medicine, including the extraordinary Antikythera mechanism, a device more than 2,000 years old that was capable of tracking celestial movements with remarkable sophistication. We also get into Christianity and the idea that astrology is somehow “New Age”, AI and our increasing tendency to outsource our own discernment, Human Design, eclipses, Venus and Mars retrogrades, changing systems and why the next few years could ask all of us to become far more intentional about how we live. And towards the end, the conversation goes somewhere I wasn’t expecting. We talk about courage, criticism, finding your calling and what happens when you stop trying to live the life you think you should be living and begin paying attention to what genuinely lights you up. Perhaps our greatest wounds aren't simply things to overcome. Perhaps, as Natasha explains through Chiron, they can also contain some of our greatest medicine. Above all, this is a conversation about change, curiosity and knowing yourself well enough to navigate whatever comes next.  Key takeaways  Why 2025 and 2026 may have felt particularly intense  The major astrological shifts happening now and what they could signify  Why Virgo, Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarius have been through a period of significant change  The shift into Leo and Aquarius and the themes of leadership, community and responsibility  Why 2027 marks an important transition within Human Design  What eclipses can represent astrologically and why Natasha sees the coming years as a period of accelerated change  Why discernment and knowing yourself may become increasingly important  The relationship between our wounds, our calling and Chiron We also talk about  Why astrology and astronomy were once studied together  The Antikythera mechanism and what it reveals about ancient knowledge of the skies  Christianity, astrology and the idea of “New Age” practices  Medical astrology and the relationship between zodiac signs and tissue salts  AI and what happens when we outsource our decision-making  Human Design and the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix  The astrology of COVID and the changes that followed  Venus retrograde and themes around relationships, money and values  Mars retrograde and what Natasha sees coming in early 2027  Why old systems may begin to change  Women, sovereignty and following the work that genuinely calls you  Criticism, limiting beliefs and having the courage to put yourself out there  Why knowing yourself may be one of the most important things you can do Resources mentioned Natasha Andreo Natasha's Website Natasha's Instagram Previous episode: From the Stars to the Cells with Natasha Andreo Send us Fan Mail Join Lisa's new global homeopathy community, The Atrium, here. The Healing Addiction with Ryan Rose Evans

This episode marks the return of brand-new conversations on What Heals, and I honestly couldn't think of a better guest to begin this new chapter than Ryan Rose-Evans. Ryan is a psychosomatic therapist and educator whose own story is one of extraordinary transformation. From addiction, violence, crime and profound emotional struggle to helping thousands of people understand their bodies, nervous systems and the deeper meaning behind symptoms, his journey is both deeply moving and incredibly hopeful. But this conversation goes far beyond Ryan's story. We explore why the nervous system often chooses familiar chaos over unfamiliar peace, the metaphor of the feather, the brick and the bus, and why so many of us ignore life's whispers until we're forced to stop. One of the most powerful moments comes when Ryan says, "Stop healing all the time." We talk about what happens when healing itself becomes another obsession, why constantly trying to fix ourselves can become a distraction, and how true healing may begin not by doing more, but by creating enough safety for the body to do what it has always known how to do. Along the way we explore somatics, German New Medicine and homeopathy, discussing how symptoms may be messages rather than mistakes, why emotional repression often finds expression through the body, and how we can begin listening more deeply to ourselves instead of fearing what our bodies are trying to say. This is an honest, thoughtful and deeply hopeful conversation about healing, suffering and learning to trust the extraordinary intelligence of the human body. Key takeaways Why the nervous system often chooses familiar chaos over unfamiliar calmThe feather, the brick and the bus, and how life gets our attentionWhy healing can become another addictionThe difference between healing and creating greater capacityWhy symptoms may be messages rather than enemiesEmotional repression and how it can show up in the bodyThe importance of feeling safe before the body can healWhy healing isn't about becoming perfect, but becoming more fully aliveWe also talk about Ryan's journey through addiction and recoverySomatic therapy and nervous system regulationGerman New Medicine and the meaning behind symptomsHomeopathy as an energetic medicineEmotional resilience and creating capacityWhy forcing trauma release can sometimes do more harm than goodSocial media, authenticity and speaking to the person who needs hope mostWhy good always has the potential to prevail over fearResources mentioned Ryan Rose-Evans Ryan's Website Ryan's Instagram Ryan's YouTube Send us Fan Mail Join Lisa's new global homeopathy community, The Atrium, here. The Homeopathy Rabbit Hole. When Homeopathy Makes You Question Everything with Dr Ralf Jeutter & Remy Vega

📚 From the Archive Before we begin a brand new season of What Heals, I wanted to revisit one of my favourite conversations from the early days of the podcast. This episode was recorded over five years ago, long before What Heals existed in its current form. Listening back now feels quite surreal. My work has evolved, my understanding of health, homeopathy and healing has deepened, and I wouldn't necessarily use exactly the same language or framing today. But this conversation has always stayed with me. It begins with homeopathy and somehow opens out into something much bigger. I'm joined by homeopath and former university lecturer Dr Ralf Jeutter, alongside researcher and musician Remy Vega, for a wide-ranging discussion about healing, consciousness, self-responsibility, freedom and what happens when questioning our understanding of health begins to challenge our understanding of reality itself. We explore why homeopathy asks us to think differently about disease, susceptibility and the energetic nature of life, before moving into a fascinating conversation about philosophy, Hermetic principles, history, consciousness and the importance of living in alignment with truth. Whether you agree with every idea discussed or not, I hope you'll hear this conversation in the spirit it was intended: three curious people exploring big questions with open minds. I still think there is real gold in this episode. Key takeaways  Why homeopathy challenges a purely materialistic view of health  The relationship between susceptibility, terrain and disease  Healing as more than simply treating physical symptoms  Why consciousness and self-responsibility are central to healing  How questioning health can lead to questioning much bigger assumptions  The Hermetic principles and how they relate to everyday life  Authenticity, intuition and the search for truth  Why healing is often an inner journey as much as a physical one We also talk about  Ralf's journey from academia into homeopathy  Samuel Hahnemann's philosophy and energetic medicine  Homeopathy in epidemic disease  Freedom, personal responsibility and conscience  Steiner, philosophy and consciousness  Ancient wisdom traditions and the nature of reality  How curiosity can become the beginning of healingSend us Fan Mail Join Lisa's new global homeopathy community, The Atrium, here. Is Homeopathy a Mirror? with Dr Asa Hershoff & Hosted by Monique Carmen

This episode is one from the archives, and this time I’m handing the microphone over to my friend and colleague Monique Carmen, who sat down with the wonderful Dr Asa Hershoff. Asa is a homeopath, writer and one of those rare thinkers who can take homeopathy far beyond remedies and symptoms, into the deeper terrain of psychology, intuition, ancient wisdom and what it really means to treat the whole person. This is not a neat, tidy conversation. It is philosophical, slightly wild in places and deeply thought-provoking. We go into Asa’s early journey into natural medicine, the healer who changed the course of his life, his first encounter with homeopathy and why he came to understand illness as something far more meaningful than a list of symptoms. We talk about radionics, remedy machines, Tibetan Buddhism, the five elements, chakras, intuition, energetic medicine and the difference between treating the surface and meeting the person underneath. One of the most powerful parts of the conversation is Asa’s explanation of homeopathy as a kind of mirror. Not something that forces the body to heal, but something that shows the body what it is ready to see. If you’ve ever wondered what homeopathy is really doing, why some cases unfold in layers, or how a practitioner learns to listen beyond the obvious symptoms, this is a conversation worth settling into. Key takeaways Homeopathy as information, meaning and mirrorWhy illness may sometimes reveal where we are stuckThe difference between treating symptoms and treating the personEssence versus persona, and why this matters in case-takingWhy the body may only reveal what is ready to be healedIntuition in practice and the moment a remedy “appears”How ancient wisdom traditions can inform healingWhy homeopathy asks us to listen more deeplyWe also talk about Asa’s first encounter with homeopathyRadionics, remedy machines and bioenergetic testingTibetan Buddhism and the idea of protection in energy workThe five elements as a way of understanding peopleThe limitations of conventional psychologyWhy language matters when describing human experienceWhat makes a great homeopathWhy healing is rarely just about the remedyResources mentioned Monique Carmen https://www.moniquecarmen.com/ Dr Asa Hershoff https://www.drasahershoff.com/ Send us Fan Mail Join Lisa's new global homeopathy community, The Atrium, here. Autism, PANS/PANDAS, Mould and the Missing Piece with Wren Lloyd

This episode is one from the archives where I'm joined by homeopath Wren Lloyd, one of the world's leading practitioners specialising in autism, PANS, PANDAS and homeopathic detox. This conversation was recorded when What Heals was Raw Health Rebel Podcast, but it remains one of the most downloaded episodes I've ever released. We talk about one of the biggest challenges facing families today: chronic illness in children, and why Wren believes there is always room for hope. Wren shares some of the remarkable cases she has seen throughout her career, including children with autism who have made extraordinary progress through an integrative homeopathic approach. We explore mould, fungi, glyphosate, heavy metals, detoxification and maintaining causes, and discuss why removing obstacles to healing can sometimes unlock cases that previously seemed impossible to shift. This is not about promising miracles. It's about recognising the body's incredible capacity to heal when we understand what may be standing in its way. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by a chronic health condition, wondered whether there is another approach worth exploring, or wanted to better understand the role of homeopathy in complex illness, this is a conversation worth listening to. Key takeaways Why Wren believes there is always room for hopeHomeopathy and complex autism casesMould, fungi and chronic illnessMaintaining causes and why some cases become stuckGlyphosate, heavy metals and toxic burdenWhy detoxification may support long-term healingThe importance of patience in chronic casesWhy homeopathy is about supporting the body's own healing processesWe also talk about PANS and PANDASBuilding a successful homeopathic practiceWhy more homeopaths are neededHomeopathy for teeth and dental healthAcute prescribing versus chronic prescribingWhen self-prescribing may be appropriateSupporting families living with autismThe future of integrative homeopathyResources mentioned Wren's website International Homeopaths For Autism website Wren's Inspire School of Homeopathic Practice Send us Fan Mail Join Lisa's new global homeopathy community, The Atrium, here. The Family Nervous System with Emma & Eleanor from The Reconnected Parenting

This episode is one from the archives where I'm joined by Emma and Eleanor, founders of The Reconnected, to explore one of the most overlooked aspects of healing: the nervous system. This conversation was recorded when What Heals was Raw Health Rebel Podcast, but in many ways it feels even more relevant now. We talk about parenting, trauma, breathwork, connected play and why so many of us spend years trying to heal our children whilst completely neglecting ourselves. Emma and Eleanor share how they came to this work, why they believe the parent's nervous system is central to the wellbeing of the whole family, and how healing ourselves can create profound shifts in those around us. We also explore why parenting can be so triggering, what our children may be reflecting back to us, and how conscious connection can transform family relationships. This is not about becoming a perfect parent. It is about understanding that healing is relational, that our bodies remember more than we consciously realise, and that there are simple, powerful ways to reconnect with ourselves and our children. If you've ever felt burnt out, overwhelmed by parenting, curious about nervous system healing, or wondered why your child seems to trigger every unresolved part of you, this is a conversation worth listening to. Key takeaways Why the parent's nervous system matters so muchHow breathwork can support emotional healing and regulationThe difference between intellectual understanding and nervous system healingWhy parenting can be one of life's greatest catalysts for growthHow our bodies hold experiences, even when we can't consciously remember themWhy healing ourselves often creates change in our childrenThe importance of co-regulation within familiesHow connected play can deepen understanding between parent and childWe also talk about Conscious parenting and family healingStrong-willed and sensitive childrenWhy modern parenting can feel so overwhelmingThe limitations of talk therapy for some peopleStored stress, trauma and the nervous systemHow children communicate through playWhy children need to feel truly seenThe connection between parenting, self-awareness and healingHow community supports nervous system healingResources mentioned The Reconnected https://www.thereconnected.com/ The Reconnected on Instagram Send us Fan Mail Join Lisa's new global homeopathy community, The Atrium, here.
