They have a hard time following a thread and talk about a million topics at once. I tried to make it through two episodes about topics I’m interested in and had to stop halfway through the second one because the research is just absolute trash. It’s pretty obvious that one of these hosts (the one that talks the most is the most uninformed), formed his opinion about the JB Ramsey case directly from the Dr. Phil episode in the 90s when he was about ten years old and it’s been an unchanged opinion ever since, he just sounded like a 90s tabloid.
He also speaks on autism in offensive ways because he thinks he has the authority because his brother is autistic. I’m also autistic, and several things he’s said doesn’t hold true, maybe he doesn’t understand his brother, he certainly doesn’t understand that autism is a spectrum. He’s also SUPER condescending about a multitude of topics and clearly has a superiority complex. The way that he speaks as if he’s an authority on topics that he’s clearly only loosely researched is grating to the brain, it’s really annoying.
There is also a TON of Christian propaganda in this, which feels like a bait and switch since there’s nothing about it in the title or show description. If I wanted to listen to a Christianity podcast, I would just look for that, and I would find much better information than what I find in this podcast. I don’t need you to sneak a daily dose of religion into a true crime podcast, I don’t consent to that.
I also think it’s fishy that they claim to have a legitimate 4.3 star rating. There are 10 1 star reviews and only 12 5 star reviews. There are only 45 reviews, most of which are 1-4 star reviews, then there are an additional 179 ratings exclusively for 5 star without reviews. Seems like they sent a bunch of friends to go rate without writing a review, because if you like the show so much, why not write a review? Now I will make sure to actually read reviews instead of relying on the fake apple review overview.
