The Radium Girls Podcast

Interesting topics but no insight or meaningful discussion. I often feel like I’m listening to middle school banter in social studies class.

This is the absolute worst podcast I have ever had the displeasure of hearing. The sound quality is terrible, the breathy voices are uncomfortable to hear, and the hosts giggle and make silly obnoxious comments as if they are middle school children. It’s acceptable to occasionally laugh through a supernatural themed episode or something with less serious subject matter, but the gleeful giggling and asinine comments throughout the Baby Brianna episode where they detail one of the most horrific cases of child abuse, is just disgusting. Not to mention the hosts frequently mispronounce words and sound not only uneducated, but willfully ignorant, as there seems to be no real research or foresight into the cases they discuss. Giving even a one star rating feels too generous.

The topics are interesting and the hosts seem nice, but it’s a little like listening to a sixth grader read from a textbook. There’s no insight or analysis.

I feel as though I’m listening to high school kiddos. The mic quality alone kills this podcast for me. It’s as if they are literally talking to me using “hands free” in the car. I think they could do better just by upgrading their mics alone.
