But other details, including withdrawn cash, a new passport for five-year-old Leela, and belongings removed from the house, complicated what appeared to be the most likely explanation. Even a coronial inquest could not determine whether Chantelle McDougall, Leela McDougall, Tony Popic, and the man known as Simon Kadwill were dead or alive.
