It's not easy keeping up with the news—especially when you're a parent. Mary Katharine Ham and Vic Matus know that well. And while they can't get your kids to school on time (and without ketchup in their hair—ask Mary Katharine about that one), they can break down the news you need to know. Put the kids to bed, pour yourself a drink, and join us twice a week for Getting Hammered.

I’ve been taking Ivermectin to control prostate cancer.
I have systemic prostate cancer, have been getting treated for it since 2006. Last year I tried taking Ivermectin for a month before having my PSA checked. It had been creeping up, was 0.2 six months prior, after the month of taking Ivermectin it was 0.02, almost nothing. Ivermectin does seem to have anti cancer properties.
Obama “Most Perfect President Ever”
On the White House Correspondents’ Dinner thing, you guys mentioned the thing about Obama and the “most perfect presidency ever”. I am frequently reminded - and this is one of those times - when there was an op-ed in one of the major papers (can’t remember which one), lamenting that beginning in 2009, comedy would suffer for the next 4-8 years.
The premise was that many comedians make their bones by telling jokes about politics and politicians. And Obama (who had barely been inaugurated) was going to be so flawless, so awesome and perfect as a president and in his policies, there would be nothing to laugh about…nothing to make fun of. No ineptitude, malfeasance or gaffes of any kind - thus denying the comedy world its very lifeblood. The poor comedians would have to struggle for other things to tell jokes about.
Gary Indiana
As I deliver across the Chicagoland, Indiana and Western Michigan
Gary Indiana the former home of the Jackson 5 is a city that fell hard with the diminishing steel industry. Gary has always been a gritty working community but the Rust Belt crushed the town. Broadway the Main Street of Gary is tough looking in a semi truck with so many abandoned buildings and people just hanging around.
Yes Vic when you get out into the rural Midwest restaurants there are gems of great food large quantities of food and nice prices and friendly people
