Good show. Would love to see some sources for conversation purposes.

Very informative, and consequently creepy. The stories of employee mistreatment seem shocking but believable. I understand that much of the source material is interviews with anonymous employees, but my one complaint is I would like to see a source list so I can talk more convincingly to people who aren’t as aware of Amazon’s issues.
Please. The ads. PLEASE JAKE

There’s gotta be something, like can we turn the ad frequency down by 1%?? Release this on cd? Send you money in an envelope and get a flash drive back??
Amazon sounds like new GM CCA

While this sheds light on how bad Amazon fulfillment Center are the same things are happening at the GM CCA plant in Burton Michigan
Great podcast

Welcome to the American employment system. Points for calling off sick but the told “don’t come in sick because you don’t want to spread anything.” It’s the same when you work in the healthcare system in the U. S.. imagine, being a healthcare worker but being penalized if you call off sick?!
Definitely listen

Excellent investigating, interviewing, and reporting. Everyone should give this a listen. I will gladly listen to ads so Jake Hanrahan can continue doing this work. Uncovering and compiling this stuff is not easy and requires hundreds of hours of work.
If you ever decide to cover another corporation I have a suggestion
03/09/2022
As someone who works on the corporate side of one of the biggest companies that like Amazon is a household name, I hope there’s another season. My close friend works for the plant of the corporation I’m employed by and we both found this series to be unfortunately relatable to our own experiences. I don’t think this podcast was meant to come across as preaching, but instead a way of explaining to people how the “sausage is made”. If you ever want to interview two employees on opposite ends of another corporation, then I just hope you’re sitting down . Great work!
Commercials

It’s a good podcast, just way too many commercials.
Scammy and Ridden with Scammy Commercials

I’ve spent nearly 17 min of my life listening to the intro episode and episode 1 and 13 of that time has been hearing the same sensationalized ads. Garbage.
The sheer number of advertisements is ridiculous.

Ok it’s really weird to me to put out a podcast talking about how awful corporations are (and they are!) while also participating extensively in capitalism. 7mins in, I’ve heard 2 mins of content and 5 of advertisements. At 23 mins in we have now taken 3 breaks for many many advertisements and idk it’s too much. It interrupts the thread of thoughts and flow of narration. Usually there’s maybe two ad breaks in a podcast of this length. Ugh. Anyways- it strikes me as well a lot of complaints lodged at Amazon are just how workers are treated in the US and maaaaybe that should be brought in the discussion. Go to any factory- you DO NOT get unlimited bathroom breaks. They’re tightly controlled and drug tests are something every bloody company does in the US. There’s a lot of criticism towards amazon, but it’s not just them.
Not great

Yellow journalism at it’s finest. The trouble with having “journalists” out there in public that have no academic background in journalism is that they don’t understand how to be objective. This is one of many podcasts out there who claim to be taking a journalistic approach to a subject but are so far from objective that you must question everything they say. What’s the point in that? I know we’re all supposed to be anti-education these days, but I fear for our culture if objective journalism is now defined by the approach this podcast takes. I’m no Amazon apologist, but I don’t feel like I can trust this source to provide valid documentation of Amazon’s alleged crimes.
