In the first part, Music Victoria’s CEO, Simone Schinkel, speaks with Edwina Floch - the founder of the Environmental Music Prize. In the second part Simone speaks with Berish Bilander – the CEO of Green Music Australia.     Jaddan Comerford

    In episode 4 of Stories from the Scene, Music Victoria's General Manager Dale Packard speaks with Jaddan Comerford. Jaddan is the founding CEO of Unified Music Group, a globally renowned music company and one of the major players in the Victorian music industry. Starting in the suburbs of Melbourne, at the age of 18, Jaddan originally founded the punk/ska label Boomtown Records. He has grown the company over the last 20 years to where Unified is now one of Australia’s largest independent music companies.     Bree Chapman-Stewart and Glen Benton

    On episode 3 of Stories from the Scene, Music Victoria’s mental health clinician Bree Chapman-Stewart, talks with Glen Benton. Supported with funding from the Victorian State Government, Bree joins our team to provide the Victorian music community with free confidential mental health services and business support. Glen is a person-centred humanistic psychotherapist who has his own lived experience of childhood trauma. Glen has worked across suicide prevention, men’s health as well as working within Aboriginal and First Nations mental health. Glen has played music his whole life across various projects, with his current focus Anavaiix, a project self-empowered by Glen’s spirituality. Glen plays every instrument in the project and all albums are self-produced. This episode is also featured on Bree’s podcast ‘Feelz’ which cleverly brings comedy together with interesting conversations around mental health and wellbeing.     Mindy Meng Wang

    Our second episode of Stories from the Scene is a conversation between Music Victoria’s previous marketing manager, Francesca Chong and Mindy Meng Wang. Mindy is an acclaimed Chinese/Australian composer and guzheng player. She’s performed and collaborated with a diverse range of artists and events from Regurgitator to Australian Art Orchestra, heavy metal artist Striborg, electronic musician Joelistics, plus Tim Shiel who she released an EP with in 2020 under the record label Music In Exile. Kiernan is a proud Darug Man originally from Canberra, now residing in Naarm, Melbourne, Australia and is the Co-CEO of Songlines Aboriginal Music Corporation Kiernan’s background stems from Education and Business, holding a bachelor of Economics from ANU and previous positions in Marrup Barak Indigenous Development Institute with Melbourne University.
