The Unbusy Mom: Because you’re ambitious, you want to grow your business, and you still want a life.

Alyssa Wolff - Human Design Time Coach for Business Moms

You're ambitious. You want the money, the challenge, the launches, the strategy, the satisfaction of figuring out a hard problem and thinking, yep, I nailed that. So how did we end up here? Working all day and still not getting to the thing you actually wanted to do. Feeling pulled in a million directions. Putting your own projects off again. Being the CEO of your business and somehow also the COO of everybody else's life. ‘Cause you can make the launch work. The kids' schedules work. The team work. The Sunday night work. The vacation-with-the-laptop work. You can make almost anything work. Until you look up and think... wait. Why am I doing all of this? I'm Alyssa, and I've spent a lot of time figuring out how to build a business I love without making my entire life revolve around keeping it running. On The Unbusy Mom, we're going to question some of the things you've probably accepted as just how business works. We'll talk about motherhood, ambition, Human Design, time management, delegation, productivity.... And the invisible responsibilities that make your business feel heavier than it needs to be. I.e., what actually has to change when you want a business AND a life. Because I don't think you're here to prove how much you can carry. Because I don't think you're here to prove how much you can carry. You wanted it all - business AND kids. So you’re going to have to make some changes to the structure of the one you've already got.

You Can't Just Hope This Biz Setup Works Itself Out

You don't just hope your funnel works. You don't just hope your team knows what to do. So why are you hoping your kids behave, your husband knows what you need, your routines somehow settle down, and your life magically gets streamlined next year? It won't. You have to decide what you actually want your Tuesday to look like, then structure it. Because “busy” was never meant to be your operating system. And if you keep waiting until you're hair-on-fire enough to make the changes, you're probably going to keep waiting. → Have me look at the whole pile If your business feels like it depends on you holding everything together, you might be waiting for things to calm down before you change anything. Maybe you're hoping your team gets more independent, your schedule settles down, your family needs less from you, or next year will somehow be easier. In this episode, Alyssa looks at business structure, workload, family responsibilities, and the decisions that shape what your everyday life actually looks like. We get into why “busy” can become the default operating system of a business, and why creating a business that fits your life usually requires changing the structure instead of waiting for life to cooperate. Nope - you don't actually have to choose between the business you want and the life you want. That's what the Business Cleanout is for. You send me the messy version of your business, your responsibilities, your projects, your team, your life. I'll take your whole pile and turn it around within 30 days. Because you don't need to spend another month trying to make everything fit. You need to see what can change so you can crush the goals you've been dreaming about and still be there for the kids. → Take a look at the Business Cleanout

Inside the chart: What if you don't need to get your fire back?

She thought she needed to get her motivation back - which immediately made me curious. Because what if you don't actually need to get yourself fired up again?? What if there's something about this particular season that we should pay attention to instead of trying to bulldoze our way through it? This one got into ambition, desire, rest, and that very weird feeling of knowing you could be doing more…. ....But not actually wanting to. We took a very normal coaching question and then asked, “Okay, but what does HER chart have to say about this?” Come listen to this one → If you've lost your motivation for your business or feel like you should be doing more than you actually want to do, it's easy to assume you've fallen out of love with your work. You might start looking for ways to get your ambition, productivity, or momentum back. In this Human Design coaching redo, Alyssa looks at motivation, ambition, rest, work-life balance, and what happens when you stop treating a quieter season like a problem that needs fixing. We get into the difference between wanting more and simply believing you should want more, and what Human Design can show you about your natural rhythm of work and rest. Nope - you don't actually have to choose between the business you want and the life you want. That's what the Business Cleanout is for. You send me the messy version of your business, your responsibilities, your projects, your team, your life. I'll take your whole pile and turn it around within 30 days. Real life vs. human design: She had the perfect work schedule - but wasn’t getting up

What if you're not actually avoiding the work? You know the thing. You KNOW what needs to happen. You sit down to do it. And suddenly you need to reorganize something, check something, think about something, possibly make a cup of coffee…. 😂 This reading got into that whole “why the heck can't I just DO the thing?” problem and what might actually be going on underneath it. Because this is where Human Design gets interesting. You can ask the exact same coaching question and get a completely different answer depending on who's sitting in the chair. Come listen to me pick this one apart → If you've created a work schedule that looks completely reasonable on paper but still can't seem to get yourself to actually do the work, you might assume you have a procrastination, motivation, or discipline problem. You've got the time blocked out. You know what needs to happen. So why are you suddenly reorganizing your desk? In this Human Design coaching redo, Alyssa looks at procrastination, productivity, work style, and why knowing what you need to do doesn't always translate into doing it. We get into what can happen when you stop treating follow-through as a character flaw and start looking at the person actually trying to work inside that schedule. Nope - you don't actually have to choose between the business you want and the life you want. That's what the Business Cleanout is for. You send me the messy version of your business, your responsibilities, your projects, your team, your life. I'll take your whole pile and turn it around within 30 days. Inside the chart: Apparently I needed my own reading.

Okay. I've been doing these little chart readings for everybody ELSE…. 'Til I thought, “Hang on. What happens if I do it for MYSELF?” 😂 So that's what I did. And I got to hear myself say all the things I tell everybody else. Like: “How can I let this be easy?” “You probably need to delegate that.” “You don't actually have to be working every day.” “Stop building your life around somebody else's definition of consistency.” Kinda rude. 😂 So yes. I did my own reading. Come listen to me turn the lens back on myself → If you've ever had a Human Design reading and thought, “Okay, that's great... but what does this actually have to do with my business and my life?”, this is the experiment that puts the whole thing to the test. Because this time, Alyssa turned the chart-reading lens back on herself. In this Human Design self-reading, Alyssa gets into Human Design for business, work style, delegation, productivity, consistency, and the pressure to work and live according to someone else's definition of success. It's a chance to hear what happens when the person doing the reading has to sit on the other side of the conversation for once. Nope - you don't actually have to choose between the business you want and the life you want. That's what the Business Cleanout is for. You send me the messy version of your business, your responsibilities, your projects, your team, your life. I'll take your whole pile and turn it around within 30 days. Real life vs. human design: She was trying to make every idea work.

What if you stopped needing the next thing to work? What if you could just… try it? What if you didn't have to know whether it was going to work before you started?? What if you could treat the whole thing like a little experiment? Try something. See what happens. Get the data. Try again. This reading really got into that energy - especially because once we looked at her actual business and life, there were some VERY obvious places to release that pressure. It can be hard to experiment when every decision feels like it needs to produce a clear result. In this Human Design coaching redo, Alyssa looks at business experimentation, decision-making, perfectionism, and the pressure to make every idea successful. We get into what happens when you stop treating every new thing as a test you have to pass and start thinking about your business more like a place where you can try things, gather information, and see what happens. Nope - you don't actually have to choose between the business you want and the life you want. That's what the Business Cleanout is for. Inside the chart: She couldn't stop looking for the next thing to fix.

Some people look at a business and go, “Wow. This is working.” She looks at it and goes, “Okay, but what's missing?” 😂 What are the gaps? What could make this better? What else needs to happen? And when I saw that pattern in her reading, I wanted to talk about what happens when that way of seeing becomes your default setting. Because it can be an incredible gift - especially when you’re in business for yourself. Come listen to me pick this apart → Today's shout out: Tania Bartolini's podcast & LinkedIn! There's always another gap, another opportunity, another improvement, another thing that could make the whole thing better. In this Human Design coaching redo, Alyssa looks at business growth, problem-solving, optimization, and the tendency to keep looking for what's next. We get into what happens when you recognize that seeing what's missing can be a real entrepreneurial strength, while also getting curious about what happens when that becomes your default way of seeing everything. For the Love of God, Just Have the Darn Coffee

Where did our moment-by-moment enjoyment of life go? Somewhere along the way, we started making our own happiness conditional on the next revenue goal, the next launch, the next metric, the next thing we can prove. And meanwhile, there’s a whole world of quiet, daily happiness happening around us. The coffee. The deep-focus work you actually enjoy. The kids playing. The beautiful afternoon you almost missed because you were trying to squeeze one more thing in. If you’re realizing you’ve built a business that keeps eating those moments, the Business Cleanout is where we can look at why. Hand me the pile → If you're an ambitious entrepreneur who feels like you're always working toward the next revenue goal, launch, metric, or business milestone, you might recognize the strange feeling of having a successful business and still not really enjoying your life. You can be productive, driven, and good at what you do while quietly postponing all the little things that make a day feel good. In this episode, Alyssa looks at the relationship between business success, productivity, ambition, and actually enjoying your life. We get into work-life balance, the pressure to keep achieving, and what happens when you stop making your happiness dependent on the next thing your business needs to accomplish. Nope - you don't actually have to choose between the business you want and the life you want. That's what the Business Cleanout is for. You send me the messy version of your business, your responsibilities, your projects, your team, your life. I'll take your whole pile and turn it around within 30 days. Real life vs. human design: Maybe you're not supposed to stop fixing things.

This woman sees problems EVERYWHERE. Gaps. Things that could work better. Processes that could be cleaner. Ways to improve the whole darn thing. And I don't think the answer is to get her to STOP doing that. 😂 I think we need to see what happens when she stops treating that part of herself like a problem. Because there are people who naturally see what could be better…. And how else are the systems gonna get fixed?? Especially if you're running a business, that instinct can be both incredibly useful and completely exhausting. In this Human Design coaching redo, Alyssa looks at problem-solving, business systems, process improvement, and the Human Design lens behind naturally spotting what's not working. We get into what happens when you stop treating your ability to see problems as something that needs fixing and start asking what that ability is actually good for. Nope - you don't actually have to choose between the business you want and the life you want. That's what the Business Cleanout is for.
