    Ep. 86 - AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE, UFC 325 recap

    We recap all the chaos from our trip to Sydney for UFC 325, including Volk snagging Fight of the Night, Lopes somehow fighting through busted feet, and solid showings from Salkilid and Ruffy. We run through the matchups (no complaints here), chat about Volk’s shoulder drama according to his coach, and preview Bautista vs Oliveira on the upcoming Fight Night. There’s also a stack of fight announcements to get stuck into: DDP vs Allen, Prates vs JDM, Reyes vs Walker, Moicano stepping in against Ribovics after Ortega pulled out, and a look at what the UFC London card’s shaping up like. On the news front, we cover everything from Patchy Mix getting released, Shavkat being injured again (shock), Craig Jones’ DUI, and some absolute nonsense at the scales. There’s talk about Hooker’s name getting butchered on Paramount+, an old-school Mike Tyson yarn, DC and Jones apparently never being mates, and Ruffy confirming he’s fighting at the Fighting Nerds show. We also hit on Nick Diaz backing himself for a title run, some spicy comments from JWP. Bam Bam wanting to train with Khamzat (I wish he would) and why we’re weirdly keen to watch this RAF card. Bit of fight chat, bit of gossip, bit of nonsense, standard MMA week really.

    Ep. 85 - Scousers really don't get knocked out

    Big episode this week as we break down everything that went down at UFC 324 and look ahead to UFC 325. Plenty of drama, plenty of laughs, and the usual madness that follows a big fight card. We run through UFC 324, including Paddy ending up in hospital, Justin refusing the ride. Dana White addressing the ads situation. Dana also confirms a fight was cancelled due to betting issues, then we jump into a full preview of UFC 325 and react to the latest fight announcements like DDP vs Allen and Prates vs JDM. The news segment goes everywhere. Dana meeting Jake Paul, Jean Silva and Arnold Allen having a funny moment, Rampage being Rampage, Khabib and Glover wrestling yet again, and some question marks around D-Rod. We also talk Arman Tsarukyan, his ongoing issues with Paddy, his generosity towards young fans, and even his chat with Kanye, was it really Kanye? We cover Strickland inviting Rittenhouse to his gym and Curtis not being impressed, Ilia firing shots at Paddy, Fiziev taking the piss out of Jean Silva and admitting he hates spiders, Rose getting emotional meeting fans after her fight, and Conor possibly driving to Paddy’s house. If you’re into MMA chat that doesn’t take itself too seriously, this one’s worth a listen.

    Ep. 84 - Arman Tsarukyan is on a PR run of the ages + UFC preview and bets

    Big episode this week as we run through UFC 324, break down the card, talk mutt multis, head-to-heads, and where the value might be. We get into the latest fight announcements and rumours, including the McGregor vs Masvidal noise and Dana White pouring cold water all over it. There’s more Conor chat too with the White House talk, contract drama after the PPV changes, and why Dustin still can’t stand him. Arman Tsarukyan is everywhere at the moment, so we cover his full PR run, getting himself in ridiculous shape, and some of the more left-field moments popping up online. We also react to Ilia Topuria hinting at a return, the UFC dropping a genuinely elite promo, and a few standout posters like Strickland vs Hernandez and Pyfer vs Izzy. Plenty of other bits as well: Strickland crossing paths with Nick Diaz Paddy Pimblett’s plan, his moment with Sean, and Hooker’s take on that whole situation Jon Jones firing a message at Alex Pereira, and Poatan making his intentions pretty clear Jai Opetaia signing with Zuffa Boxing and the latest mess in Australian boxing Ali Abdelaziz floating Conor vs Gaethje at the White House No carry on, just solid MMA chat, a few laughs, and plenty to argue about.     Big news over the break in MMA and combat sports, so we cover a stack of it. Sean Strickland gives his honest take on Khamzat, we talk about how an annual Paramount+ sub is somehow cheaper than a single PPV, and react to Mike Tyson weighing in on Conor. There’s some proper chaos too. Andrei Arlovski getting caught up with Jack Doherty and his crew, Gamebred trying to sweet talk Kayla and Poatan’s kid looking scary at just 14. McGregor’s everywhere as usual. Hosting a TV show, helping out the homeless, and even talk of the Trump family putting money behind him. We get into the serious stuff as well, including the Anthony Joshua car crash in Nigeria, the reports around it, possible retirement. On the fight front, Magomed wants a third crack at Alex, Tom Aspinall’s dealing with surgery, its bad. Jiri’s being Jiri, and Gaethje might be battling a staph infection or BBQ sauce We also chat Jake Paul’s curse, the Morales situation with his record being changed, JDM calling out Shavkat, and the possibility of a wild White House card with Anik reckoning there could be six or seven title fights. Plus a few wholesome moments with JDM and Neon to balance out the madness. Bit of news, bit of nonsense, and plenty of opinions. Get amongst it.

    Big episode this week. We kick things off with a breakdown of UFC Royval vs Kape, then roll straight into our very first Piestrong MMA Awards. We’re handing out gongs for KO of the Year, Sub of the Year, Brawl of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Fighter of the Year, we are undecided so Performance of the Year goes out to a Fan decision. Plenty of fight news to get through as well. Burns vs Malott, Neal vs Holland, Oliveira vs Bautista headlining the first Fight Night, Costa vs Ferreira, Ciao vs RDR, and a quick look at some surprisingly decent bare-knuckle scraps. Then it’s a full sweep of the MMA news. Jiri’s gender reveal, Poatan’s ridiculous stats, Prates ruffling feathers, Volk rocking the Street Fighter haircut, Usman Nurmagomedov possible coming to the UFC, and Conor finally tying the knot with Dee. We get into Islam’s situation with the UFC, Ilia Topuria’s growing list of problems, Francis continuing to be a walking disaster, Buckley offering Khamzat 50 grand just to stay on his feet, and the usual rankings chaos, fighter cuts, trolling, and doping dramas.
