289: Zone 2 Cardio for Women in Midlife: Why Slower May Actually Be Smarter

OVERVIEW: If you are a woman in your late 30s, 40s, or 50s and you feel like every workout has to leave you exhausted to “count,” this episode is for you. For years, women have been taught that harder is better, more sweat, more intensity, more calories burned, and more HII. In midlife, your body often needs a smarter strategy, not more punishment. In this episode, I am breaking down Zone 2 cardio and why it can be such a helpful tool for women over 35. Zone 2 is a lower to moderate intensity form of cardio that supports cardiovascular health, metabolic health, recovery, fat oxidation, and longevity. This does not mean Zone 2 replaces strength training or that HIIT is bad. It simply means Zone 2 can be a valuable part of a well-designed plan, especially for women who are already juggling stress, busy schedules, hormone shifts, poor sleep, and demanding workouts. Inside this episode, we cover: What Zone 2 cardio is and how it should feel Why Zone 2 matters for women in midlife How it supports metabolism, recovery, and longevity Why more intensity is not always better after 35 How to know if you are training in Zone 2 How often to include it in your weekly routine Common mistakes women make with cardio The biggest takeaway is that you do not need to destroy your body to get results. You need the right strategy. Zone 2 cardio is one of those boring basics that can make a big difference when used consistently and in the right context. It pairs beautifully with strength training, daily movement, protein-focused nutrition, sleep, and recovery. If your current approach has been random workouts, too much intensity, or constantly chasing calories burned, this episode will help you rethink how you are using cardio in this phase of life. Sabrina shares her powerful 4-step method for healing your relationship with food for good and explains how women can begin rebuilding self-trust, confidence, and peace around eating. This conversation also explores intuitive eating, disordered eating patterns, emotional eating triggers, and the importance of understanding the “why” behind behaviors with food instead of simply trying to control them with more willpower. 287: Fat Loss vs. Weight Loss And Why You Feel Stuck

OVERVIEW: In this episode of Cheers to Your Success, Ashley is breaking down one of the biggest misconceptions in the health and fitness space… the difference between fat loss and weight loss. If you have ever felt discouraged because the scale is not moving, despite working hard and staying consistent, this episode is for you. Ashley explains why the number on the scale does not always reflect the progress your body is making and why focusing only on weight loss can often lead women down the wrong path. Ashley dives into the difference between losing body fat versus simply losing weight and explains why preserving muscle mass is essential for metabolic health, hormone balance, strength, longevity, and sustainable results. She also breaks down why the scale fluctuates due to stress, hormones, water retention, sodium intake, digestion, and other factors that have nothing to do with gaining body fat. This episode will help you shift your mindset away from obsessing over the scale and toward focusing on true body composition changes and long-term transformation. Inside this episode, Ashley covers: The difference between fat loss and weight loss Why the scale does not tell the full story Common reasons the scale fluctuates How stress, hormones, digestion, and water retention impact weight Why preserving muscle mass matters for metabolism and longevity Signs your body is progressing even if the scale is not changing Common mistakes women make when chasing rapid weight loss Why aggressive dieting can backfire The importance of strength training and eating enough protein How to measure progress beyond the scale Ashley also explains how fat loss fits into her Repair, Rebuild, and Results framework and why building a healthy metabolism and strong foundation is key for sustainable success. If you have been feeling stuck, frustrated, or discouraged by the scale, this episode will help you better understand what real progress actually looks like and how to approach your goals in a healthier and more sustainable way. OVERVIEW: On today’s episode of Cheers to Your Success, I’m joined by the incredible Dr. Aumatma Simmons, a double board-certified Naturopathic Endocrinologist, intuitive leadership guide, and creator of the Lead with Silence methodology. After spending nearly two decades helping couples conceive naturally and training hundreds of doctors around the world, Dr. Aumatma realized something powerful. Instead, they come from learning how to slow down, tune in, and trust the wisdom your body is already communicating. 285: Why You’re Not Seeing Results Even Though You’re Consistent

OVERVIEW: In this episode of Cheers to Your Success, Ashley is breaking down one of the most frustrating experiences women face on their health and fat loss journey… feeling like you are doing everything right but still not seeing results. If you have been working out consistently, eating “healthy,” staying motivated, and showing up day after day but your body still is not changing, this episode is for you. Ashley explains why consistency alone is not enough if the strategy you are following is not aligned with your body, goals, metabolism, and lifestyle. This episode takes a deeper look at the common mistakes women make that keep them stuck, including underestimating calorie intake, relying on random workouts, lacking progressive overload, and ignoring the impact weekends, stress, recovery, and biofeedback can have on results. Ashley also explains the difference between working hard and working strategically, and why more effort does not always equal better progress. Inside this episode, Ashley covers: Why consistency alone is not enough for results The difference between effort and strategy Common reasons women stay stuck despite “doing everything right” Why eating healthy does not always mean you are in a fat loss phase How weekends may be impacting your progress more than you realize Why structured strength training and progressive overload matter The role stress, sleep, digestion, and recovery play in fat loss Why tracking food can provide awareness and insight The importance of customization and a strategy built for your body Ashley also shares practical tips to help you tighten up your routine without becoming obsessive, restrictive, or overwhelmed. If you feel frustrated, discouraged, or confused about why your body is not responding despite your consistency, this episode will help you identify what may really be holding you back and what to focus on moving forward.
