    Resident Review - Number 1 Coronation Street

    In our latest Resident Review, we take a look behind the doors of Number 1 Coronation Street, the home of the Barlows and the McDonalds. With Cassie having just left the Street for pastures unknown, we've been left with a bit of a turning point for the remaining residents - but what should Corrie do to try and leave the characters feeling fresh? To be honest, we're not too sure the characters of Steve, Tracy, Amy and Ken gel well together as a family group - despite enjoying all of the characters in their own way individually! - so it was fun to chat over what could potentially breathe a bit of new life into Number 1. Enjoy!

    Conversation Street Episode 745

    On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 9th and the 14th August (Episodes #11,918 - #11,922) There's been a murder! And a suddenly existing relative is involved! This week, Corrie meshes together two ideas that they're really quite fond of recently, which ultimately results in Tim and Sally getting a new foster child to look after - the question is, is she being completely honest about the circumstances surrounding her mother's death? Meanwhile, Sarah splits with Kit in an attempt to protect his career, but he's not willing to let her go without a fight! Also this week, Idris plays dirty to get his hands on Speed Daal, the Bailey boys rally around Ronnie, and opportunity knocks for Nina.     Cassie Plummer Character Profile

    For this week’s bonus podcast, we take a look back on Cassie Plummer’s three years on the cobbles, chronicling her dalliances with drugs, family fall-outs and snuggles and snogs with Steve McDonald. We ponder whether Corrie did the right thing rewriting Tyrone’s family history to bring the Plummers into the show, and consider whether leaving Cassie’s fate shrouded in mystery was the right way to bring her time on the cobbles to a close. Love Cassie or loathe her, it’s impossible to deny the charisma Claire Sweeney brought to the role, and we had a lot of fun revisiting some of her most memorable moments in this discussion. Enjoy!

    Conversation Street Episode #744

    On our latest podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 3rd and the 6th August 2026 (Episodes #11,914 - #11,917). What’s that? You thought that just because there were only four episodes of Corrie this week, this would be a short podcast? Au contraire! With the stroke storyline taking centre stage once more and Dylan finding himself on the receiving end of an attack from Lauren, you’d better believe we’ve got plenty to say about where this story is heading! Has he really done enough to show he’s sorry for what he did to Betsy? Is Lisa’s unrestrained anger towards him justified? And will anyone actually listen to what Betsy wants? There’s an awful lot to unpick here! Not only that, but this week also saw Cassie’s mysterious disappearance from Weatherfield - is she dead, or has she simply been Andy Carvered? Elsewhere, we met Tim’s suddenly existing cousin, Kit issued Gary with an ultimatum and Debbie got to thinking about how she wants to go out when the time comes...     Conversation Street Episode 743

    On our latest edition of the podcast, we share our thoughts on the episodes of Coronation Street between the 24th and the 31st July (Episodes #11,907 - #11,913). Seven episodes of Corrie to catch up on this week thanks to our impromptu trip to France, but we somehow managed to squeeze them into roughly the same amount of podcasting time as usual - perhaps because this batch wasn’t quite so controversial! Jodie’s been up to her old tricks again, leaving us scratching our heads over where on earth she procured a fake gun, what exactly she’s doing posing as Shona online and, perhaps the biggest question of all, how on earth she’s still living under the Platts’ roof after everything she’s done. Meanwhile, Cassie’s huge revelation that Ross paid her for sex when she was just 15 receives a bizarrely muted reaction from her nearest and dearest, so she takes revenge into her own hands - with unintended consequences for Tracy! Also this week, Debbie swears off the booze after failing to recognise Tim, Nina accuses Sienna of pinching her tips and Idris becomes the latest in a strangely ever-growing line of Corrie characters to reveal that they aren’t actually the family member everyone thought they were. The big question here, though, is: does anyone really care? Exciting news for Corrie fans in The Kabin this week as The Coronation Street Experience reveals  it'll be taking guests into the actual studios to visit the Rovers Return set this month, and we finish off the podcast with more of your fantastic feedback.     Conversation Street Episode 742

    We’ve got a busy couple of days coming up this weekend, which means we’re releasing Episode #742 of the podcast slightly earlier than usual! This one covers the Corrie episodes shown between Monday and Thursday (#11,903 – #11,906), so – and we know this is a bit of a big ask – if you happen to have a spare three and a half hours before Friday’s visit to Weatherfield, do give it a listen! The controversial Betsy and Dylan saga continued this week, with opinions still sharply divided over whether he should be punished for his part in causing her stroke – at least among their friends and family! The main topic of conversation on this week’s podcast, though, is Sarah’s shock arrest on Monday. We couldn’t help but love watching Kit duck and dive as he tried to find a way to get her off the hook and place the target squarely on Gary’s back, while Maria’s dogged pursuit of the truth about what her husband has been hiding has been incredibly entertaining too! Meanwhile, Christina is still struggling to keep her spending habits under control, Todd and Summer have a big announcement and Ollie finds himself a new job at Speed Daal. We’ve received plenty of feedback about last week’s podcast over the past seven days - thank you to everyone who wrote in to share their response to our views on Betsy’s storyline.     Bernie Winter-Alahan Character Profile

    On this week’s episode of the podcast, we take a look at the character of Bernie Winter-Alahan, the crystal-crazy crackpot who’s been living it large on the Street for the past seven years! Starting out as one of Corrie’s most terribly neglectful mothers, Bernie has grown into a brilliantly well-rounded character, supporting her family through money woes, maladies and marital dramas - all brought to life by the wonderfully charismatic Jane Hazlegrove. Whether she’s selling Gemma’s used pregnancy tests online, blasting her son’s ashes into space or coming face to face with her doppelgänger Fern, it’s often impossible to predict exactly what Bernie is going to do next - and we love her for it!
