    141. My customer service horror stories, and how you can handle complaints without losing your mind

Content warning: This episode mentions suicide. If you or someone you know has been affected by any of the issues raised in this episode, help is always available. Call Lifeline Australia on 13 11 14. Customer service is part of building a business. It is also one of the fastest ways to test your patience, your boundaries, and your leadership. In this episode, I share several real stories from my own journey, from scaling a 7-figure fashion brand to navigating the early days of my coaching business. Some of them are absurd. Some are terrifying. All of them taught me something important about policies, professionalism, and protecting your energy. Because the complaint itself is rarely the hardest part. It is the emotional weight that comes with it. The back and forth. The temptation to defend yourself. The way one email can hijack your entire day if you let it. Inside this conversation, I walk through how to handle difficult customers without reacting, oversharing, escalating the situation, or damaging your reputation. We cover: Why complaints can feel so personal The importance of responding rather than reacting How to remove emotion from difficult replies When a refund can be a strategic decision How to tighten policies after a challenging situation Protecting your reputation in the age of screenshots Guarding your energy as a founder If you run an online store, sell digital products, or work closely with clients, this is a conversation worth having. Strong boundaries are not harsh. Clear policies are not unkind. Protecting your energy is not optional if you want to build something sustainable. Running a business will expose you to all kinds of people. The goal is not to avoid complaints. The goal is to handle them in a way that protects your brand, your confidence, and your long-term vision. If this episode resonated, I would love to hear your own lessons from the trenches. 140. My e-commerce Meta Ad predictions for 2026

Meta ads are still one of the most powerful growth levers for e-commerce brands. But the way they work, and the way you need to use them, has shifted again. In this episode, I’m sharing my 2026 Meta ads predictions based on what I’m seeing right now inside real ad accounts, client results, and the wider e-commerce landscape. This isn’t theory or trend-chasing. It’s what’s actually working, what’s losing effectiveness, and where smart founders need to focus next if they want profitable, sustainable growth. Inside this episode, we cover: How Meta ads are evolving in 2026 and what that means for product-based brands Why creative, messaging, and offer clarity matter more than ever What Meta’s increasing automation really means for advertisers Where founders are still wasting money (and how to stop) How to think about ads as part of a wider sales and marketing system, not a standalone tactic What I’d prioritise if I were starting or scaling ads this year If you’re running ads now, or planning to this year, this episode will help you approach Meta with more clarity and confidence. Ready to fix what’s not working in your ads? I’m hosting a free, live training where I break down the 5 biggest Facebook ad mistakes I see e-commerce brands making right now, and what to do instead. 👉 Register your place at my free Masterclass  Want support beyond the podcast? 139. You are not your business -How to separate your business from your self-worth and stop beating yourself up when things don't go to plan

The first episode of 2026! After a much-needed break, I’m back in your ears to kick off the year with a topic that’s been coming up a lot in my mastermind (and in my own experience too). This week, we’re talking about something many e-commerce founders quietly struggle with: Feeling like your business is you. Your identity, your self-worth, your success – all tangled up in sales, social media engagement, and your Shopify dashboard. In this episode, I unpack: Why healthy detachment is actually a business strategy The impact of tying your self-worth to your revenue The nervous system toll of constantly checking your Shopify app Real-life boundaries you can set to protect your energy and decision-making Simple mindset shifts and physical routines to create separation This is a vulnerable, honest conversation about what it really looks like to run a business without letting it run you. Especially if you’re a creative, a perfectionist, or someone who really cares. 🎧 Listen to the full episode here: https://www.jodieminto.com/podcast  💻 Want help building a profitable online store that supports your life (not consumes it)? 138. End of Year Reflection + Looking Ahead

As the year comes to a close, I wanted to record something a little different for this final episode of Online Store Success. This isn’t a strategy episode. It’s a pause. A chance to slow down, reflect on the year that’s been, and look ahead with a bit more clarity and intention before everything ramps up again. If this year stretched you emotionally, mentally, or financially, you’re not alone. It’s been a big year for many e-commerce founders, and in this episode I invite you to gently reflect on what actually worked, what felt heavy, and how you want your business and life to feel in the year ahead. This episode isn’t about setting revenue targets or pushing harder. It’s about closing the year intentionally and creating space for a more aligned next chapter. In this episode, I talk about: • Why this year felt heavier than usual for many small business owners • How to reflect on what worked without judgement • Identifying what drained your energy, time, or cash flow • Shifting focus from revenue goals to how you want your business to feel • What I’m seeing work right now inside my mastermind clients’ businesses • Why simplifying your product range and focusing on hero products matters • Creating a more easeful, sustainable sales and marketing engine • Protecting your energy through better systems, support, and operations A gentle reflection as you listen: As you listen, I invite you to sit with these questions: • What actually worked for you this year? • What felt heavy or misaligned? • How do you want your business and life to feel next year? There’s no pressure to have perfect answers. This episode is simply about noticing, acknowledging, and closing the year with intention. Ways you can work with me: If you’d like support as you move into the new year, here are a few ways we can work together.
