In this episode, we sit down with photographer, explorer, and lifelong paranormal experiencer Kaylah Dawn (@spookay_ and @havenhollowphoto), alongside Laura Elizabeth, a paranormal investigator and host of Midnight in the Mountains, a podcast exploring all things spooky. Together, they take us into a world of haunting encounters and chilling discoveries at some of America’s oldest and most haunted locations. For Kaylah, the paranormal has been part of her life for as long as she can remember. From a mysterious Lady in White to a top-hatted figure that haunted her family home, she recounts encounters with full-bodied apparitions—experiences that continue to this day. While staying at a friend’s house in Virginia, Kaylah encountered what appeared to be the spirit of a little girl who tormented her throughout the night. The experience didn’t end when she left—the presence followed her home, where the activity became even more terrifying. Was this the restless spirit of a child, or something far more sinister? Drawing on their shared passion for history, folklore, and legends, we explore the stories behind the locations they’ve investigated, the residual energy they’ve encountered, and the evidence that continues to fuel their search for answers. Kaylah also opens up about her experiences with automatic writing—a practice believed to allow spirits or other unseen sources to communicate through written messages—and shares the striking results she has received. Laura shares a chilling EVP, or electronic voice phenomenon, captured during one of their investigations at an orphanage in Gettysburg. It’s an unsettling recording that raises questions about who—or what—was there with them.
