    Seek Week: Pursuing God’s Presence | ryan peterson

    11.1.2026 WE CANNOT OUTSOURCE THE FUTURE OF OUR CITY! We are watching a generation face unprecedented darkness, and the Church cannot afford to remain complacent. We cannot outsource the spiritual future of our city to programs, elections, schools, or someone else’s prayers. The responsibility is ours. We don’t need another strategy to manage the darkness. We need the presence of God. We need the fire of God. We need revival. “Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually.” — Psalm 105:4 (AMP) Have we grown so comfortable with the condition of our world that we can live without the very thing our city desperately needs? Jesus came to baptize His people with the Holy Spirit and fire. We were not called to remain neutral while darkness presses in on our families, our children, and our communities. We cannot manufacture revival, but we can seek the God who sends it. During Seek Week, we stop, fast, pray, and SEEK GOD for revival in our hearts for the renewal of our city.     Managing Your Household – Sabbath | ryan peterson

    10.25.2026 God never designed you to live exhausted or driven by the endless demand to produce. From the beginning, He established the Sabbath as a holy rhythm—a day to stop striving, remember His goodness, and encounter His presence. While culture measures your worth by what you produce, the Sabbath offers a better way: encountering God’s presence through rest so you can carry it through the rest of the week. Ceasing work is an act of faith to reflect on His faithfulness in your life. Sabbath isn’t simply a day off; it is a day given to the Lord to cultivate life in your soul so that life can flow into your city. When we learn to steward and carry His presence by surrendering our time to God, He breathes life into us, blessing our efforts to flourish and multiply.     Managing Your Household – Parenting pt. 2 | ryan peterson

    10.18.26 The Biblical call to parents is to raise children who are grateful for God’s abundance rather than entitled by it, remembering that every good gift comes from Him. Through clear responsibilities, meaningful choices, and the weight of outcomes, we help our children develop maturity and confidence in their identity. We teach them that contributing to the family, serving others, and being faithful in secret matter to God. Ultimately, parenting is about more than managing chores or correcting behavior; it is about shaping hearts and relationships. Loving discipline, rooted in connection rather than anger or punishment, teaches self-control, wisdom, and accountability. Just as our heavenly Father disciplines those He loves, we discipline our children to help them grow into mature, responsible adults who walk humbly with God.     Managing Your Household – Parenting pt. 1 | ryan peterson

    10.11.26 The three marks of a disciple are: strengthen yourself in the LORD, manage your household, and fill your city with Jesus. We’ve been looking at managing our household like a GREENHOUSE. In Ephesians 6:1–4, Paul addresses both children and parents and their responsibilities toward one another. Parenting is a temporary assignment designed to prepare our children to encounter the LORD—that’s why we call it substitute parenting. The goal isn’t simply for them to listen to us, but to know their heavenly Father. Like a greenhouse, the home is where children are cultivated, protected, and prepared for what is beyond it. Parents, you have been given a short and sacred window in which to form the life God has entrusted to you. Find the gold. Protect what is pure. Confront the folly. And make your home a place where your children can see, hear, and experience something of what their Father in heaven is like.     Managing Your Household – Marriage | ryan peterson

    10.04.26 Marriage is not an isolated subject—it is part of the greater story of God. Ephesians 5 reveals that marriage begins with hearts awakened to God. Before Paul ever speaks to husbands and wives, he calls us to be filled with the Spirit and submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. The issue is not simply learning better marriage techniques; it is becoming people whose hearts have been transformed by God’s grace, love, sacrifice, and truth. These inputs of God shape the outputs of marriage. As we are filled with God, husbands are called to lead through sacrificially loving, wives are called to walk in willing submission, and both are formed into the image of Christ. Different roles. Same heart. One purpose. Marriage is not to make us happy—it is one of God’s great instruments for making us holy and more like Jesus. When two people continually connect to God and to one another, they realize their battle is not against their spouse but the enemy, against whom we can stand.     The Greenhouse Pt. 2 | ryan peterson

    9.27.2026 Your greenhouse holds multiple gardens representing different relationships: marriage, children, friendships, and extended family. Each has unique soil requiring specific nutrients to flourish. Even a right action done at the wrong time can cause harm. When we discern hearts, step into the worlds of those we love, and consistently provide the right care, we build a culture where relationships thrive. This culture is shaped by our words and sustained by our habits. The rhythms we establish in our homes become systems that protect what every relationship needs most: connection.     The Greenhouse Pt. 1 | ryan peterson

    9.20.2026 What’s in your heart is displayed in your home. God designed the home to be a greenhouse—a place where His presence cultivates an environment of life and life abundantly. To manage our households means to be present, intentional, and actively involved in the well-being of those God has entrusted to us. Every member of the home has a role to play. As we allow God to shape our hearts, our hearts shape the culture of our homes, and what is cultivated in our homes eventually flows into our cities. God blesses our homes not to keep them in the home, but so that the life He produces in us can be multiplied out to renew cities.     Family on Mission | ryan peterson

    09.13.26 The picture we see of family in the Old Testament is a grim one, yet a source of hope to use as a blueprint. It’s a wonder how a family survived after you look at the depth of the dysfunction that has been passed on for generations. We see rampant sins piled up that are deep and wide. The end of the Old Testament gives a stark warning of a curse on the land if we don’t figure this out. Fortunately, we have someone who does not come to get rid of our past, but to rebuild a new family. Jesus is the master builder who comes to break the curse off the land and our families if we build it as He designs. What does family look like in the New Testament? Is it a white picket fence with a swing set in the back, the parents living with low cholesterol, and setting up their retirement? Or did Jesus come to bring a family on mission because the stakes of hell and sin are high? As we begin our series on how to manage the household, let’s ask for God’s heart for His design of family—to build what He wants to sustain. Jesus didn’t come to give us nice, cordial families. He came to build families that carry His mission.
