Paying For Past Mistakes | Episode 72

In August 2023 during a pre-season training session at Keyworth United football club I was involved in a collision that led to an all too familiar trip to the Queens medical centre hospital in Nottingham. An investigation into the shoulder and neck pain I was experiencing began. After multiple scans and an Arthogram the shoulder specialist revealed I had full thickness tears in three of my shoulder tendons and recommended shoulder surgery to fix them. I chose not to operate at the time but la...

I was incredibly impressed with the level of gymnastics and how professionally the weekend was put together. Tumbleboy31 ,

Such an awesome podcast

Sam thank you for your retrospectives and vulnerability. I grew up in the US system around the same time as you in the GB system (never to your level, I wish) and was chewed up and spit out. I hope your story helps young gymnasts in their career not repeat the mistakes made in our past.

FYI I had shoulder surgery 5 years ago and it was the best decision I’ve made. If you have a laparoscopic option take it. They can always do open shoulder later if you have an issue.

Thanks for the podcast man!!!
