What are you letting into your heart? | Richard Welsh

Your heart determines the entire course of your life, serving as the driver of your actions and desires. This week, Ps. Richard shares how we can take responsibility for what we let into our hearts through the power of Jesus. =========================== WHAT ARE YOU LETTING INTO YOUR HEART? / MAINTAINING A HEALTHY SPIRIT Proverbs 4:23 NLT Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Hosea 10:12 NLT Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you. THE GUARD, THE GARDENER, AND THE SOIL MY HEART, MY RESPONSIBILITY YOU ARE THE GUARD: YOU DECIDE WHAT YOU LET IN Acts 27:10-11 NLT "Men," he said, "I believe there is trouble ahead if we go on—shipwreck, loss of cargo, and danger to our lives as well." (11) But the officer in charge of the prisoners listened more to the ship's captain and the owner than to Paul. Acts 27:20 NLT The terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone. Many things will knock on your heart. You have a choice what you let in Galatians 5:24-25 NLT Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. (25) Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives. Acts 27:21-22 NLT No one had eaten for a long time. Finally, Paul called the crew together and said, "Men, you should have listened to me in the first place and not left Crete. You would have avoided all this damage and loss." (22) But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down. JESUS IS THE GARDENER: LET HIM WORK DAILY ON YOUR HEART Acts 27:23-25 NLT For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, (24) and he said, 'Don't be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What's more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.' (25) So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said. What we grow in private shows up in public Colossians 2:6 NKJV As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, JESUS IS THE GARDENER: LET HIM PULL THE WEEDS BEFORE THEY TAKE ROOT Acts 28:3 NLT As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand. Acts 28:5 NLT But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed. Hebrews 12:15 NLT Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. Ephesians 4:26-27 NLT And "don't sin by letting anger control you." Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, (27) for anger gives a foothold to the devil. Do whatever it takes to forgive. Acts 28:9 NLT Then all the other sick people on the island came and were healed. Guard your heart. Let Jesus garden your heart. And let's get on with the mission! =========================== CONNECT GROUP QUESTIONS: What is one thing that helps you stay close to Jesus when life is hard?Paul encouraged others even while going through a storm. Who is someone you can encourage this week?Is there something you need to let go of or forgive right now? What is one good thing you can choose to focus on this week? How can this group help you keep moving forward?

THE HEALING OF THE MIND A BUTTERFLY JOURNEY | Rod Plummer

No matter how difficult or overwhelmed your mind feels, there is incredible hope and freedom found in Jesus. Join us this week as we look at a powerful Bible story that proves God can heal anyone. ============================= THE HEALING OF THE MIND - A BUTTERFLY JOURNEY "Hurt People Hurt People, but Healed People Help People" BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND. Romans 12:2 NIV Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY IS NOT THE END OF THE STORY Mark 5:2, 5-8 NKJV (2) And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, ... (5) And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones. (6) When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. (7) And he cried out with a loud voice and said, "What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me." (8) For He said to him, "Come out of the man, unclean spirit! ..." John 10:10 NIV Jesus says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." SET FREE TO BE FREE TO LIVE GOD'S WAY! Mark 5:15 NKJV "When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid". SET FREE FOR PURPOSE IN HIS HOME REGION OF DECAPOLIS Mark 5:18-20 NKJV As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. (19) Jesus did not let him, but said, "Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you." (20) So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed JESUS THEN HEALS MANY PEOPLE IN DECAPOLIS. Mark 7:31 NIV Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis. Mark 7:37 NIV People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said. "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak." JESUS FEEDS 4,000 IN DECAPOLIS Mark 8:9a NIV About four thousand were present… 1. It's "OK to be not OK" when you come to Jesus. But as a Good Father, God wants to heal us and make us ready for life purpose 2. Jesus healed all who came and asked for help. Jesus' healing is not limited by our past stories. ... He just offers healing. 3. Inner healing leads to renewed purpose in life. 4. Inner healing is also a process. THE BIG THREE JOURNALLING - Reading God's Word everyday if possible Matthew 4:4 NIV Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" SIMPLE PRAYER - Pray the Lord's Prayer Everyday (Mat 6:9-13 ) CLEAN HEART - "Let it go" everyday ============================= CONNECT GROUP QUESTIONS: Is it "OK not to be OK" when you come to Jesus? What is one thought or worry you'd like to give to God this week? How does it make you feel to know that Jesus accepts you as you are and wants to heal you?Is there an area of your life where you sense God is bringing healing right now?Who is someone whose story of healing has encouraged you? ============================= Connect with us:Web: mylifehouse.com Instagram: instagram.com/lifehouseglobal/ Facebook: facebook.com/lifehouseglobal Other Podcasts:Want to listen to our messages in other languages? Don't Keep Your Joy to Yourself | Richard Welsh

God never intended for us to experience breakthroughs or celebrate victories in isolation. When the church gets together, there is a powerful exchange of joy and strength that lifts everyone in the room. This week, Ps Richard shares how opening up your heart to godly community is the key to stepping into lasting victory. ------------------------------ DON'T KEEP YOUR JOY TO YOURSELF 1. THE JOY OF THE CHURCH TOGETHER Acts 12:5 NLT But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. Acts 2:46-47a NLT They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity- (47) all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. Godly community and godly victory are more connected than you think. If you're still waiting for the breakthrough — who's in the room with you? A sheep separated from the flock isn't free. It's exposed. 1 Peter 5:8 NLT Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Romans 12:15 AMP Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others’ grief]. The right people can't find you if you keep hiding. 2. JOY IS MEANT TO BE SHARED Acts 12:12-14 NLT When he realized this, he went to the home of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many were gathered for prayer. (13) He knocked at the door in the gate, and a servant girl named Rhoda came to open it. (14) When she recognized Peter's voice, she was so overjoyed that, instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and told everyone, "Peter is standing at the door!" Your joy is a gift to every person in the room Philippians 2:14-15 NLT Do everything without complaining and arguing, (15) so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. The Jesus in you is greater than the atmosphere around you If Jesus has given you joy, don’t hide it. Share it. 3. DON’T BE TOO SERIOUS TO CELEBRATE Acts 12:15-16 NLT "You're out of your mind!" they said. When she insisted, they decided, "It must be his angel." (16) Meanwhile, Peter continued knocking. When they finally opened the door and saw him, they were amazed. 2 Samuel 6:16 NLT But as the Ark of the LORD entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she was filled with contempt for him. Galatians 5:22-23 NLT But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (23) gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! You can have great conviction and great joy. Let’s not be too “mature” to be touched by God Nehemiah 8:10b NLT Don't be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!" Revelation 3:20 NLT "Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. -------------------------- CONNECT GROUP QUESTIONS: How can you help your friends, like the four men who helped the paralyzed man in the story? Why is it important to celebrate when other people are blessed? What are some of the dangers of isolating yourself instead of staying connected to a church community? When you are going through a hard time, you may want to hide, but what’s a good way to ask for help or stay connected? -------------------------- Connect with us:Web: mylifehouse.com Instagram: instagram.com/lifehouseglobal/ Facebook: facebook.com/lifehouseglobal Other Podcasts:Want to listen to our messages in other languages?
