    355. 355. Why Does Mom Have to Know Everything? How to Get the Family Mental Load Out of Your Head

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever had someone in your family ask, “What time is my appointment?” or “What are we doing for dinner?” and wondered why you’re the only person who knows the answer?  As working moms, we spend so much time keeping track of the details that make our families run. And sometimes, even when someone else is helping, we’re still the person responsible for remembering, reminding, and coordinating everything.  In this episode, I’m sharing how to create a simple family information hub so everyone knows where to find the information they need… and you don’t have to be the family’s personal Google.  We’ll talk about how to make family organization a shared responsibility, why delegating a task isn’t the same as handing over ownership, and how a few simple systems can help you get some of that mental space back.  In this episode, we’ll talk about:  Create one place for family information: Choose a shared calendar, notes app, or simple system that your family will actually use.  Make it a shared system: Get your spouse and kids involved in adding information instead of being the only person managing it.  Give responsibilities an owner: Learn the difference between asking someone to help and having them take ownership of a task.  Have a simple weekly check-in: Spend a few minutes looking at the week ahead so you can plan for busy nights, appointments, and activities.  Stop being the answer to every question: Teach your family to use the system and take more responsibility for their own schedules and needs.  You don’t need a perfectly organized home or an elaborate family command center. You just need a place for information to live, a system everyone can access, and a willingness to stop carrying every detail yourself.  Because creating more balance isn’t always about finding more time. Sometimes it’s about making sure everything doesn’t have to depend on you.  👉 Come share how this week’s episodes helped you in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you!  ⭐ If this episode gave you a little boost, please take a moment to leave a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify… your reviews help more amazing moms find the show! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  📌 Grab Your Freebies!  🔥 Boundaries Made Simple… guilt-free scripts, mindset shifts, and a “guilt-detox” checklist  💖 Goal Manifesting Planner … map your dreams with bite-size prompts  🥗 Stress Free Weeknight Dinners Guide… reclaim your evenings (and your sanity)  📱 Tech Time-Out for Moms Guide… ditch the scroll and win back precious minutes  🧹 Spring Cleaning Checklist… because clutter steals time, too  🎅Christmas Planning Guide… yes, early prep counts as self-care  💻ChatGPT Prompts Made Simple for Moms.. simply cut and paste  Want to connect with other amazing moms?  Join us in our Facebook group, Work-Life Balance For Working Moms, where we share tips, support, and inspiration every day!  ⏰ Ready for 1:1 support? ⏰  If you’re looking to get control of your schedule and make time for amazing family memories, book a FREE discovery call with me today!   Love & Light,   Kerri  Let's keep the conversation going. 354. Working Mom Mindset: Your Time Isn't Just Spent on What you Do, It's Spent on What You Are Trying To Remember

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever gotten to the end of the day and thought, I don’t even know what I did today, but I am exhausted?  You might have checked things off your to-do list, answered emails, taken care of the kids, and gotten dinner on the table. But there was also a whole other list running through your head all day long.  The appointment you need to schedule. The school form you can’t forget. The work deadline coming up. The birthday gift you need to order. And the fact that you’re almost out of milk.  In this Monday Mindset episode, I’m talking about the mental load of motherhood and why our time isn’t just spent on what we physically do—it’s also spent on everything we have to remember.  Our mindset shift this week is:  “Your time isn’t just spent on what you do—it’s spent on what you have to remember.”  I’ll share why even a productive day can leave us feeling mentally drained, how trying to remember everything takes up valuable space, and why creating more balance sometimes starts with getting things out of our heads instead of trying to fit more into our schedules.  In this episode, we’ll talk about:  Why the invisible work of remembering can be just as exhausting as completing the tasks themselves.  How working moms carry information between work, home, kids, appointments, and everyday responsibilities.  Why a beautifully organized calendar doesn’t always mean your mind feels organized.  How to stop treating every thought that pops into your head like it needs immediate attention.  Why trusted systems and shared responsibilities can help reduce the mental load.  How to create more space to be present with your family and enjoy the time you already have.  💛 This Week's Challenge  Take five or ten minutes to do a mental unload. Write down everything you’re currently trying to remember—work things, home things, appointments, errands, conversations, and all the little details taking up space in your head.  Then ask yourself:  What can I put into a system so I don’t have to keep remembering it?  What can someone else take ownership of?  And what doesn’t actually need my attention right now?  You don’t have to solve everything on the list. The goal is simply to stop carrying all of it around with you.  Because your brain deserves a break from being the family calendar, the work project tracker, the grocery list, and the reminder app all at the same time.  👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 353. Why You Can't Parent Every Kid The Same & How To Not Feel Guilty About It

Hi Mamas,  If you have more than one child, you already know—you can raise them in the same house, with the same parents, and somehow end up with completely different human beings.  What works with one of your kids may completely backfire with another. One may need more structure and boundaries, while another needs you to back off and give them more independence. One may want comfort and reassurance when they’re upset, while another needs space.  And yet, as moms, we can put so much pressure on ourselves to make everything “fair.”  But fair doesn’t always mean equal.  In this episode, I’m talking about why loving your kids equally doesn’t mean parenting them exactly the same. I share how I’ve learned to pay attention to the child in front of me, adjust the way I parent based on what each of my kids needs, and let go of some of the guilt that can come with treating our kids differently.  We’ll talk about:  The difference between fair and equal when parenting multiple children  How to recognize what each of your kids actually needs from you  Why different personalities may require different parenting approaches  How to adjust your parenting as your kids grow and change  What to do when siblings notice they’re being treated differently  Why different doesn’t mean favorite  How to avoid comparing or labeling your kids  Simple ways to make each of your children feel seen, heard and valued  Because our job isn’t to parent every one of our kids exactly the same.  It’s to get to know them, meet them where they are, and give them what they need from us in the season they’re in.  Same love. Different delivery.  And sometimes loving our children equally means showing up for them differently.  👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 352. Working Mom Mindset: Sometimes Loving Your Children Equally Means Showing Up for Them Differently

Hi Mamas,  Do you ever feel guilty because you parent one of your kids differently than another?  Maybe one child needs more structure while another thrives with independence. One needs reassurance and connection, while another needs you to step back and give them space.  And then comes the mom guilt…  Am I being fair?  Today we’re talking about an important reminder for moms raising multiple children:  “Sometimes loving your children equally means showing up for them differently.”  Because equal love doesn’t always mean equal parenting.  Our kids are individuals. They have different personalities, challenges, strengths, triggers and emotional needs…and part of intentional parenting is learning who each child is and what they need from us in this season of their life.  In this episode, we’re talking about  ✨ Letting go of the pressure to parent every child exactly the same   ✨Recognizing the difference between fair and equal   ✨Releasing the mom guilt that can creep in when one child needs more of you than another.  We’ll also talk about why your parenting approach has to evolve as your kids grow. What worked when they were eight may not work when they’re thirteen, and what one child needs from you may look completely different from what their sibling needs.  💛Your Monday Mindset Challenge:  Think about one situation where you’ve been feeling guilty because you’re handling things differently between your children.  Instead of asking:  “Am I being fair?”  Ask yourself:  “What does this child need from me right now?”  Maybe it’s structure. Maybe it’s reassurance. Maybe it’s a boundary. Maybe it’s independence. Or maybe they simply need their mom to sit beside them and listen.  You don’t have to parent your children identically to love them equally.  Sometimes loving them equally means showing up for them differently.  🎧 And come back tomorrow! We’re taking this conversation even deeper and talking about why you can’t parent every child the same, how to recognize what each child needs, how to navigate those inevitable “That’s not fair!” moments, and how to make sure each of your kids feels seen, heard and loved.  👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 350. Working Mom Mindset: Every Task You Simplify Creates Space For Something

Hi Mamas, ,  What if the goal isn't to get better at doing everything... but to make some of it easier?  As busy working moms, we become incredibly capable. We manage careers, kids, calendars, meals, appointments, school activities, relationships, homes—and about a million tiny details no one else seems to realize we're keeping track of.  And somewhere along the way, we can start believing that because we're capable of doing it all, we should do it all.  But this week's Monday Mindset is your reminder:  “Every task you simplify creates space for something that matters more.”  Because simplifying your life isn't just about saving time. It's about deciding what you want to do with the time you get back.  Maybe simplifying dinner gives you more time to sit with your family.  Maybe automating a task gives you time to take a walk.  Maybe delegating something gives you more patience with your kids.  Maybe finding a faster way to handle something at work helps you close your laptop on time.  Or maybe that extra time gives you a few minutes to sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing—and yes, mama, that counts too.  In today's Monday Mindset, we're talking about why being capable doesn't mean you have to do everything yourself, why productivity shouldn't simply mean squeezing more into your day, and how simplifying the small things can help reduce your mental load and create more work-life balance.  Because the goal isn't to become more efficient so you can do more.  The goal is to become more efficient so you have more room for the people, priorities and moments that matter most.  💛Your Challenge for this week…  Find ONE thing you can simplify this week.  Automate it. Delegate it. Shorten it. Create a system for it. Use a tool to make it easier. Or decide that maybe it doesn't need to be done at all.  Then—and this is the important part—don't automatically fill that extra time with another task.  Ask yourself:  “What do I want to create space for?”  Your family? Your health? Your marriage? Your goals? Your faith? Your friendships? Your rest? Or simply being more present in the life you're already living?  Remember, mama: you don't get extra credit for doing life the hard way.  Every task you simplify creates space for something that matters more.  👉 Join the conversation!  Come share your biggest takeaway inside our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms. We'd love to hear how this week's mindset shift helps you move through overwhelm with more peace and intention. 349. Why Moms Burn Out Every September And How To Avoid It

Hey Mama,  Does September ever feel like someone suddenly hit the fast-forward button on life?  One minute you're enjoying slower summer mornings, and the next you're juggling school schedules, sports practices, homework, work deadlines, permission slips, teacher emails, and somehow trying to remember what you're making for dinner.  In today's episode, I'm sharing why I believe so many moms burn out every September—and more importantly, what we can do to prevent it.  This back-to-school season looks a little different for my family. We're dropping Ashley off at college on the exact same day that Kaylee and Michael head back to school, making this one of the biggest seasons of change we've experienced as a family. Between the emotions of watching my oldest leave the nest, adjusting our routines, and realizing my youngest is beginning his last year of middle school, I've been reminded that September isn't just busy—it's emotional.  In this episode, we're talking about:  Why September can feel more overwhelming than any other month   The invisible mental load moms carry during back-to-school season   Why saying "yes" to everything leads to burnout   Simple ways to simplify your routines and protect your time   Why every activity doesn't deserve a "yes"   How creating more margin can help your family feel calmer and more connected   My hope is that this episode reminds you that you don't have to do it all to be an amazing mom. Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves—and our families—is give ourselves permission to slow down, simplify, and focus on what matters most.  One Small Favor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  If this podcast has ever encouraged you, inspired you, or simply reminded you that you aren't alone, I'd be so grateful if you would take a minute to leave a 5-star rating, especially on Apple Podcasts.  If you have another minute to write a review, that would mean the world to me. 348. Working Mom Mindset: Overwhelmed? Here's Why You Don't Have To Do It All

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever felt like asking for help meant you were somehow failing?  Like if you weren't doing all the cooking, cleaning, planning, remembering, organizing, and managing, then maybe you weren't doing enough?  If you've ever felt that way...  You're not alone.  In today's Monday Mindset episode, I'm sharing a mindset shift that I think every working mom needs to hear:  "You don't have to do it all yourself to be enough."  As moms, we often wear busyness like a badge of honor. We convince ourselves that if we're exhausted, overwhelmed, and constantly pouring from an empty cup, it somehow proves how much we love our families.  But what if that's not true?  What if doing more doesn't make you a better mom...  What if being more present does?  Today, I'm talking about perfectionism, mom guilt, asking for help, and learning to let go of the unrealistic expectation that we have to carry everything on our own.  I also leave you with a simple challenge to help you start releasing one thing that's been weighing you down this week.  In This Episode, We Discuss:  Why so many working moms feel like they have to do everything themselves   The connection between perfectionism and mom guilt   Why being exhausted isn't a badge of honor   The difference between being busy because of life's season and creating unnecessary pressure for yourself   Why asking for help is a sign of strength—not weakness   How letting go of control creates more space for connection and presence   A simple challenge to help you lighten your mental load this week   ✨This Week's Challenge  Choose one thing you've been holding onto simply because you feel like you should be the one doing it.  Ask yourself:  "Am I doing this because it truly matters... or because I feel guilty letting someone else help?"  If it's guilt...  Practice letting it go.  Delegate it.  Simplify it.  Or decide it doesn't need to be done at all.  Sometimes the greatest gift you can give yourself—and your family—is permission to stop trying to do it all.    👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you!
