I never read LOTR before this podcast and now Frodo is like a friend I worry about. 5 stars

Shelved by Genre is of my favorite shows. The hosts are as funny as they are insightful, and I've been introduced to a variety of incredible stories that I likely wouldn't have come across on my own. An easy 5⭐️. NOW THAT THAT'S OUT OF THE WAY: Cameron, I have never smashed the pause button to go write a comment so fast in my life. I need you to look up the 1981 BBC audio drama recording of "In Western Lands Beneath the Sun", and then come back here & formally apologize to my best boy Sam for slandering his songwriting abilities. (I don't wanna put the YT account on blast, since filing takedowns is the Tolkien estate's favorite hobby, but you're looking for the "unofficial" account w/ the LotR logo. Trust me, it's better than the CD version.) ...But yeah other than that, 10 out of 10, no (additional) notes! 👍 😄

With all of Tolkien’s song reinterpretations from the group, I think there’s enough for a full album at this point. An LP at the very least.

Thanks to Shelved By Genre (specifically the bonus episodes on their patreon) I now know about the Baby With Fresh Extensions. My outlook on life has improved drastically. I’ve also learned a lot about genre literature, but this is the thing that will stick with me for a lifetime. Thanks SBG!
