The Delayed Pleasure of Scary Music

Dissonance and consonance can only exist in relation to each other, be it the denying of pleasure to increase its potency, or by resolving harmonies in Gizmo’s theme from Gremlins. A Halloween special, looking at how much discomfort is good for us. The online “coaches” who charge extorionate prices to unlock the secret of finding students are preying on vulnerable women as part of a pyramid scheme. Queer Cosplay and Scams in Classical Music

Certain classical musicians cosplay as liberal to benefit from queer spaces, and get found out by their inevitable support of Israel. I look at how money and social class are still the greatest barriers in classical music, as well as chatting about the scam of “music studio coaches.” Grma x Inline G Patreon ⭐️ www.patreon.com/TheInlineGFlutePodcast Inline G will ALWAYS be free of charge, but signing up to the Patreon helps let this podcast reach new heights, if you can afford it. Fatness and Body Image in Classical Music

A prevalent stereotype exists of classical musicians, particularly singers, that they’re all big fat lads with viking horns. However beauty standards have never been higher in the industry, and nor have eating disorders. Looking at a study into disordered eating, as well as the commentary around Yuja Wang and Khatia Buniatishvili and the castrated singers of before, I try to quash these stereotypes.  Grma x Inline G Patreon ⭐️ www.patreon.com/TheInlineGFlutePodcast Inline G will ALWAYS be free of charge, but signing up to the Patreon helps let this podcast reach new heights, if you can afford it. Internal Evaluation as a Classical Musician

After receiving some exciting news, I reflected on why I instantly felt a pang of anxiety and why classical musician’s systemically feel like this. Using a concert from psychologist Carl Rogers, I look at how other musicians evaluate their success internally and how we can do the same. Israel's Classical Music Propaganda Tool

Israel uses stolen classical music as a soft power to legitimise its existence as a state, and even the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra can’t hide that. This episode compares it with Japan’s use of soft power post WW2, and calls for the industry to hold Israeli musicians to the same standards we held Russian ones too. Georgian Classical Music; A Guide

For a country of under 4 million people, Georgia is regularly producing some of the best musicians on earth.  I look at how this is in fact in spite of its Soviet past, instead due primarily to its incredible folk music ecosystem.  Grma x Inline G Merch ⭐️ www.Inlineg.myshopify.com Inline G Patreon ⭐️ www.patreon.com/TheInlineGFlutePodcast Inline G will ALWAYS be free of charge, but signing up to the Patreon helps let this podcast reach new heights, if you can afford it.
