When Motivation Wears Off 😩 & how to create a more mature relationship with goals

REAL TALK...I’m actually not that motivated. 😅 I don’t always want to leave my warm bed, stop snuggling my dogs and pick up the dumbbells. I do it because I’ve decided that what I receive on the other side—feeling strong, supporting my mental health and keeping a promise to myself—is worth it. Somewhere along the way, I stopped requiring myself to want to do something before I was willing to do it. In this episode, we’re talking about developing a more grown-up relationship with motivation, goals and the life we say we want to create. Because creating what you crave has a cost, and loving what you’re creating doesn’t mean you’ll love every single thing required to create it. We’re digging into: ✻ Why “I don’t feel like it” can have a voice without always getting the vote ✻ The difference between wanting, waiting, willingness and work ✻ What mature motivation looks like without slipping into hustle or burnout ✻ Why every goal, dream and version of life comes with its own “crap sandwich” ✻ How to tell the difference between a difficult part of the journey and something you genuinely no longer want ✻ Why consistency isn’t about never leaving—it’s about learning how to return TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 The 4:30 a.m. workout conversation that made me pause01:00 The truth: I’m actually not that motivated01:35 Why “I don’t feel like it” doesn’t always make the decision02:25 Deciding that what’s on the other side is worth it03:00 What are you currently waiting to want to do?04:00 Developing a grown-up relationship with motivation04:15 The hidden cost of creating what you crave05:25 Why we love beginnings—but eventually the beginning ends05:55 What mature motivation actually looks like07:00 Wanting, waiting, willingness and working08:00 The difference between “I don’t want to” and “I don’t have the capacity”09:10 When willingness has to become work10:05 Every goal comes with a “crap sandwich”11:00 The unglamorous parts of strength, podcasting and owning Crave12:00 Maybe you’ve simply reached the part you don’t like12:25 “This part sucks” versus “I don’t want this anymore”13:00 Is what you want on the other side still worth it?14:00 When the cost becomes too high14:45 Remembering why the work is worth doing15:00 You don’t need a fresh start—you need to return15:45 Redefining consistency in real life16:20 One small choice to return to what matters17:00 Creating what you crave after the feeling wears off LINKS & RESOURCES MENTIONED: ✻ Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

{COUCH CONVOS} How to Raise Capable Kids Without Losing Yourself 🫶🏼 w/ Tiffany from The Big Mom Energy

How do we raise capable, independent kids without controlling who they become—or losing ourselves somewhere along the way? In this Couch Convo, I’m sitting down with my friend Tiffany from The Big Mom Energy for an honest conversation about parenting through every season. Tiffany brings the perspective of a mom raising three children across very different ages, a former high-school teacher, and a woman currently navigating the shift from raising kids who need her daily to supporting adult children who need her differently. We talk about preparing kids for life beyond high school, setting expectations without demanding perfection, allowing them to make mistakes, and recognizing when parental care begins tipping into control. Tiffany also shares what it looks like to transition from being an active parent to more of a “consultant." But this conversation isn’t only about who our children are becoming. It’s also about the woman underneath motherhood. We talk about making space for your health, friendships, marriage, interests, and purpose while raising a family—and why caring for yourself helps you show up as the mother you want to be. Whether you’re raising little ones, teenagers, or adult children, this conversation is an invitation to raise capable humans while remaining connected to the capable woman you already are. THE FINAL 100 🪩🥂 How Do You Want to Feel When the Ball Drops?

There are 100 days left in 2026. But these final days don’t need to redeem your year, compensate for goals that stalled, or turn you into an entirely new person by January. They’re still your life—ordinary Tuesdays, work deadlines, cozy evenings, family obligations, holiday traditions, and weeks that won’t go according to plan. The goal isn’t to squeeze everything possible out of the days that remain. It’s to give those days your focus and attention. In this episode, I’m walking you through a simple Final 100 framework that begins with one question: How do you want to feel when the ball drops? From there, we’ll choose one daily focus that helps you practice that feeling now, one weekly focus that makes your daily choice easier, and three monthly check-ins that give you space to notice what’s working and adjust along the way. This isn’t a 100-day perfection challenge. It’s an invitation to live intentionally inside the rest of the year—and begin practicing the way you want to feel before December 31st ever arrives. IN THIS EPISODE: 00:00 Why I love the final 100 days of the year02:00 Why this isn’t an intense, all-in 100-day challenge03:00 The question guiding your Final 10004:00 The complete Final 100 framework04:30 Step one: How do you want to feel when the ball drops?07:00 Step two: Choose one daily focus08:30 My daily focus: aiming for 120 grams of protein11:00 Step three: Choose a weekly focus that supports the daily one14:00 Step four: Schedule your monthly check-ins16:00 Your Final 100 homework17:00 Why you should share your intention with someone you love18:00 Practicing the feeling inside your actual life TLDR: FINAL 100 FRAMEWORK: FEEL: How do you want to feel when the ball drops? DAILY FOCUS: What is one choice that will help you practice that feeling now? WEEKLY FOCUS: What can you do once a week to make your daily choice easier? MONTHLY CHECK-INS: What are you learning, noticing, and adjusting at the end of October, November, and December? Write those four pieces somewhere you can see them—and share your Final 100 with someone you love. 🤍

Care or Control 🫣 When Wellness & Self-Improvement Stop Serving You

At what point does caring for ourselves become controlling ourselves? The workout program, morning routine, meal plan, habit tracker, planner, or Oura Ring may have genuinely helped us feel stronger, healthier, and more intentional. But sometimes, almost without realizing it, the structure that once supported our life begins running it. Helpful data starts determining how we feel about ourselves. A goal that gave us direction becomes a finish line that never stops moving. And adjusting the plan begins to feel like failure. In this episode, I’m exploring the very fine line between care and control—and why the difference often reveals itself when life happens and the plan has to change. We’ll talk about the fear underneath our need to keep pushing, why recovery is part of the work, and how to recognize when a supportive practice has quietly gained too much authority in your life. You don’t have to abandon your goals, routines, or desire to grow in order to treat yourself with care. Sometimes the next step is simply loosening your grip enough to let the tools support you again. IN THIS EPISODE: 00:00 The planned deload that sparked this conversation01:00 Are we approaching “peak optimization”?03:00 When self-care quietly becomes self-control04:00 Why recovery is part of the work08:00 When receiving care feels like losing control09:00 When helpful tools gain too much authority10:00 How to recognize the difference between care and control13:00 Three questions to ask yourself14:00 Loosening your grip without abandoning your goals THREE Q's FOR REFLECTION: What was this practice originally meant to support? What happens inside of me when I can’t follow the plan?Am I responding to what I need—or reacting to what I fear?LINKS & RESOURCES: ✻ Ladder app 30 day Guest Pass✻ Robin Sharma, author of The 5 AM Club✻ WIN THE MORNING journal

LIFE LATELY 🍂What I’m Learning, LOVING, & Looking Forward To

In today’s episode, we’re having a good old-fashioned life update. I’m sharing what I’ve been learning on the other side of the Reclaim Your Summer series, including why I’m trying to stop measuring whether my personal growth is “working” and what it looks like to live inside a chapter that hasn’t told me where it’s going yet. We’re talking about grieving previous versions of ourselves, continuing forward when the road feels foggy, and learning how to participate in the life we have without forcing an answer about what comes next. Then we’re lightening things up with everything I’ve been loving lately: my new strength-training rhythm, the Ladder app, wellness supplements and drink swaps, changing my morning routine, the books and shows I couldn’t stop talking about this summer, Frankie turning 10—and all the fall goodness I’m looking forward to during the “ber” months. In this episode, we talk about: ✻ Why finishing meaningful work deserves more than a quick checkmark✻ Turning personal growth into another test we think we have to pass✻ Learning how to “just be” when life doesn’t match the vision board✻ Grieving, guessing and continuing to go anyway✻ What it means to “wait well” and participate in the life you have✻ My current 3-2-1-1 workout rhythm✻ Choosing rest instead of caffeinating my way through exhaustion✻ Why our routines have to support the life we’re living now✻ My favorite books, shows and wellness finds from the summer✻ Intentionally planning for the memories and joy of fall You don’t need to have your next chapter perfectly defined before you begin walking into it. You can grieve what has changed, feel uncertain about what’s ahead and keep going anyway.
