The Independent: A Notre Dame Football Podcast

This is a stand out among Notre Dame podcasts due to the quality of the hosts’ reporting, guests, and command of the narratives. However, I’m compelled to write to disagree with the assertion on November 23, 2024 episode that the shamrock series should be played more often in New York. Getting into Yankee Stadium for the game was an unmitigated disaster of the kind I wouldn’t wish on a Michigan fan. It was pure chaos and not the kind college football fans root for. It was a thousand times worse than the MetLife game and I say that as a New Yorker who hates crossing the river. Maybe they could try Citi Field but if ND ever returns to Yankee Stadium I would consider it an insult to the fan base.

This is a must listen podcast if you are a Notre Dame fan. Fantastic, unbiased insight coupled with great guests.

I’m a USC grad and fan. I enjoy the knowledge and objectivity these guys bring to the show. Just listened to them post game the NIU loss. Marcus freeman is a lock to be a disappointment at ND. He has no credentials as a head coach. Zero! It’s like giving the keys to a Formula One car to a kid who works the night shift at McDonalds. He’s almost as silly a hire as DeShaun Foster at UCLA (program suicide) or USC’s hire of Clay Helton. Zero experience. Hire Jedd Fisch! Hire Kenny Dillingham or the Nebraska coach. Don’t hire a total lightweight who should be coaching Toledo or Cal Poly Pomona. You are ND! Or USC! Don’t hire zero’s to head your programs. And, I never saw anything special in Leonard. What’s so special? He had a QB rating of 25 against NIU. He wasn’t elite at Duke by any stretch. Miller Moss is far superior to Leonard. I’ll take Noah Fifita over Leonard.
