    The Median American Life Is Worse Than You Think

    The Median Life Isn’t “Good”: What an Average 40-Year-Old Really Looks Like (US vs Europe & Asia). Nick challenges the myth that the “average” person lives well, arguing that median outcomes in health, wealth, relationships, work, and meaning are often suboptimal even in past economic “glory days.” He cites U.S. life expectancy, widespread chronic conditions and obesity, rising depression, and a skewed wealth distribution where median net worth is far below the mean and often tied up in home equity or retirement accounts.
