    71. Men’s Health Month: Breaking the Silence Around Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain is something many men experience, but very few talk about. In today’s episode, we’re continuing the conversation around Men’s Health Month by exploring male pelvic pain. If you’ve ever been told that your tests are “normal”, but you're still experiencing symptoms, this one is for you! Pelvic pain can show up in a variety of ways, but normal imaging and medical testing don’t always tell the whole story.  One of the biggest misconceptions we see? The belief that pelvic floor problems automatically mean weakness. In reality, many men with pelvic pain have pelvic floor muscles that are too tense and unable to relax properly!  Pelvic floor therapy can help identify these patterns, assess movement and muscle function, and provide tools that support long-term healing, rather than temporary symptom management. Most importantly, we want men to know that pelvic pain is real, common, and often VERY treatable. You don't have to keep suffering in silence, and you don't have to navigate it alone! Episode Recap: What male pelvic pain is + common symptoms men may experienceWhy "normal" testing doesn't always mean nothing is wrongThe role of overactive pelvic floor muscles in persistent pelvic painHow the nervous system, stress & pain can create a frustrating cycle of symptomsWhy issues in the hips, low back, abdomen & surrounding muscles can contribute to pelvic painWhat pelvic floor therapy treatment may includeSigns it's time to seek help **Disclaimer: The information shared in this podcast is NOT meant to be taken as individual or medical advice. 70. Let’s Talk Men’s Sexual Health: What Is Hard Flaccid Syndrome?

When we think about pelvic health, the conversation often centers around women: pregnancy, postpartum recovery, periods, or pelvic pain. But...men’s pelvic and sexual health matters too! In honor of Men’s Health Month, we’re opening up about an important (and often overlooked) conversation around men’s sexual wellness. In today’s conversation, we’re diving into a condition called hard flaccid syndrome, and why symptoms involving erections, pelvic discomfort, and sexual dysfunction deserve attention rather than silence.  Sexual health isn’t separate from overall health - it’s deeply connected to how safe, regulated, and supported the body feels. Pelvic floor therapy can greatly help men if there are issues in this area. If this sounds familiar for you or someone you love, please know that you’re NOT alone, and you don’t have to navigate it without support! Episode Recap: Why men’s pelvic + sexual health deserves more conversation & supportWhat hard flaccid syndrome is + common symptoms to watch forHow stress, nervous system dysregulation & mental health can impact sexual functionWhy men are often told “nothing is wrong” + where pelvic floor therapy fits inTaking a multimodal treatment approachNavigating intimacy during recovery + why there’s no one-size-fits-all answerWhy men should know they’re NOT alone on this journey  **Disclaimer: The information shared in this podcast is NOT meant to be taken as individual or medical advice. 69. Perimenopause + Pelvic Health: What Every Woman Needs to Know

Perimenopause is something more women are finally talking about, and we are SO happy about that! But…if we’re honest, many of us still feel wildly undereducated about what it actually looks like. In today’s conversation, we’re diving into perimenopause + pelvic health, and what every woman needs to know during this time. The transition to perimenopause can begin in your late 30s or 40s, and it often shows up in ways you may not immediately connect to hormones.  We also dive into something that doesn’t get talked about enough: how perimenopause impacts pelvic health. Hormonal shifts can influence a LOT, but also, these symptoms are very nuanced.  Ultimately, perimenopause is not “the beginning of the end” - it’s a transition. If you’ve been feeling off, overwhelmed, or wondering why things suddenly feel different, please know you’re NOT alone, and support is available for you! Episode Recap: What perimenopause actually is + when it can beginCommon symptoms that women often overlookHow hormone changes can affect the nervous system, stress tolerance + recoveryPelvic floor changes during perimenopauseKey pieces that really impact your health & wellness during this timeThe importance of pelvic floor support, informed providers + hormone conversationsWhy perimenopause is a transition (not “the beginning of the end”) **Disclaimer: The information shared in this podcast is NOT meant to be taken as individual or medical advice. If you’ve ever brushed off leaking, painful intimacy, constipation, or back pain as “just part of being a woman”, today’s episode is for YOU! Whether it’s peeing when you sneeze after having kids, feeling pressure “down there,” or struggling with painful intimacy, you’re definitely not alone. While these things can be embarrassing to talk about, there are REAL answers (and support) available! The biggest reminder from this conversation? You are NOT broken, and these are not issues you just have to “live with”. Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself and seek professional support, because your symptoms ARE valid. 67. Learning to Trust Your Body Again

Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything *right* for your health, but…somehow things still feel off?  In today’s conversation, we’re unpacking something we see all the time in our clinics (and have experienced ourselves): when healing efforts quietly turn into hypervigilance.  Instead of helping the body feel safe and supported, constant monitoring, overthinking, and trying to do it all “perfectly”, can actually keep symptoms lingering longer than they need to. Even using helpful strategies can quickly become unhelpful (which leads to even more frustration and overwhelm). If you’ve been feeling stuck, discouraged, or like your day revolves around managing symptoms, this episode is your reminder: your body isn’t fragile - it’s incredibly capable.  Sometimes, the most POWERFUL shift isn’t adding more. It’s loosening your grip, creating space, and learning to trust your body again! Episode Recap: What hypervigilance in health really meansWhy helpful strategies can become unhelpful when they turn obsessive or fear-drivenThe crucial role your nervous system playsRealizing that more effort ≠ faster healingWhy this pattern is often driven by subconscious fearsKey signs to watch forShifting your body from control → trustSmall shifts that can truly help to break this cycleWhy healing your body isn’t about perfection **Disclaimer: The information shared in this podcast is NOT meant to be taken as individual or medical advice. 64. Endometriosis Awareness: What Every Woman Needs to Know

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month, and this is a topic that’s incredibly important to us as pelvic health therapists! Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women worldwide, yet the average time to diagnosis is still 7–10 years. That delay often leaves women feeling dismissed, confused, and questioning their own experiences when painful symptoms are brushed off as “normal.”  In reality, endometriosis is far more complex than many people realize, and it deserves MUCH more awareness and support! Endometriosis care works best when it’s multidisciplinary and whole-body focused. A supportive care team (including pelvic health therapists like ourselves), can help address underlying inflammation and chronic pain patterns.  If you’ve ever wondered whether painful periods are normal, what endometriosis symptoms look like, or how endometriosis is diagnosed and treated, we hope this episode brought you value and insight as you advocate for your health! Episode Recap: Key endometriosis stats + how long the typical diagnosis takesWhy endometriosis is more than a reproductive condition + can affect many areas of the bodyWhy symptoms go far beyond painful periodsUnderstanding that pain that disrupts your life is NOT normalWhy disease stage doesn’t equal symptom severity.Reasons why endometriosis diagnosis is often delayedWhy specialized surgery is the gold standardHow pelvic health PT and OT can help manage symptomsWhy endometriosis care NEEDS to be multidisciplinaryContinuing to advocate for your health & seek providers who will support you **Disclaimer: The information shared in this podcast is NOT meant to be taken as individual or medical advice.
