Love Letters from God Change Me

The episode opens with Military Broadcast Radio's mission statement, thanking listeners and supporters before introducing the theme: how God changes us into better people through His Word. A reflective poem follows, encouraging listeners to recognize how far they've come, even if they don't always see their own growth. The message is that others often notice our strength and perseverance before we do ourselves. The main discussion challenges listeners to pause and examine their lives: Are we so busy chasing success that we've forgotten what truly matters?Where does God fit into our daily routines? Are we allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our character, not just our accomplishments? The speaker emphasizes that God's goal isn't simply to make us successful—it is to make us more like Christ so others can see His love through us. The episode then reads and reflects on Psalms 46–48: Psalm 46: God is our refuge and strength during life's storms. "Be still, and know that I am God."Psalm 47: A celebration of God's sovereignty and kingship over all nations.Psalm 48: A declaration of God's greatness, faithfulness, and everlasting guidance. The closing message reminds listeners that God wants each of us to become the best version of ourselves, and His "love letters"—the Scriptures—show us how to grow and change. The episode ends with a prayer asking God to continue transforming our lives, followed by a brief Military Broadcast Radio TV promotional message.

🎙️ Bunkhouse Podcast – Jack Hager Interview

Jack Hager, a Vietnam veteran, shared an honest account of his military service, struggles after returning home, and the path that ultimately led him to faith and ministry. He enlisted during the Vietnam era after growing up in an Army family, served in military intelligence in South Korea, Germany, and Vietnam, and witnessed firsthand the emotional toll of war and the difficult reception many Vietnam veterans received when they came home. After leaving the Army, Jack became involved in drug trafficking and organized crime, eventually being arrested and sentenced to prison. While incarcerated, he experienced a life-changing Christian conversion that completely redirected his life. Following his release, he entered ministry, eventually dedicating decades to working with youth, military members, and prison populations. Throughout the conversation, Jack emphasized several key themes: Personal responsibility is essential to healing and recovery. Mental health should never carry shame, and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Faith played a central role in his own recovery, while recognizing that everyone needs support in different ways. Transparency saves lives. By openly discussing his failures, addictions, depression, and cancer diagnosis, he hopes others realize they are not alone. Veterans must continue supporting one another, regardless of generation, because many struggles are shared across eras of service. The discussion also compared the experiences of Vietnam veterans and post-9/11 veterans, particularly the frustration of seeing sacrifices seemingly undone in Afghanistan. Jack and the host agreed that healing begins with honesty, accountability, and reaching out before problems become overwhelming. Jack praised the VA healthcare system he has personally experienced in Missouri, crediting it with diagnosing both kidney failure and blood cancer early enough to begin treatment. The interview concluded with encouragement for veterans and civilians alike: Don't suffer in silence. Reach out for help before you're overwhelmed. Be willing to help others. "Be the light in someone's dark." Overall, the episode was a powerful conversation about redemption, resilience, faith, and the importance of giving veterans a voice.
