beautifully complex & presented w intelligence, heart & insight. really appreciating the courage & vulnerability of this podcast. btw, is it obligatory to mention payne lindsay because of production affiliations? just saying, this podcast is social justice sans sensationalism- in other words, feels more like actual journalism vs entertainment, payne’s stock & trade… sorry bro, just my take…

Honestly couldn’t get past the first episode. Not sure the host is even the best person to tell this story when he lumps Nation of Islam Muslims and actual Muslims into one category. Cursory knowledge of both religions makes it obvious that Nation of Islam Muslims are black nationalists cosplaying as “Muslims” as racial nationalism or separatism has zero place in mainstream Islam. Malcolm X figured this out easily enough and this is why he left the Nation of Islam. Host also used the word “Islamist” interchangeably with “Muslim” and uhh buddy those two things are not interchangeable. Bonus cringe points for mispronouncing masjid and imam.
