LTWT 027: Leading as a Young Adult

“There’s a correlation with looking on the things of others, humbling yourself, not making it all about you, and God working in you to will and to do of His good pleasure, because He wants to take care of the people around you, too! And you can be that person that gets to do that. That’s what really makes life exciting, and that’s what really got me excited about becoming a leader, was seeing God work in me to help other people.” Taylor Thurlow interviews Nic Sullwold in this episode, and they talk all things leadership, with a special focus on young leaders rising up to this privilege and responsibility. Nic is a young Way Corps minister with The Way International. He shares how he chose to step into ministry as a form of servant leadership, what that journey was like for him, and the qualities good leaders should value according to God’s Word. Placing emphasis on humility, service, and looking on the things of others, Nic gives a beautiful picture of what a leader can be for God’s people. LTWT 026: Standing Strong as a Youth

“I think standing firm, for me, often has to do with keeping my heart open—open to God, open to people, open to the promise that God heals all wounds, open to the promise that God will meet our needs.” Heather Malinowski interviews Abby Tye in this episode, who recently wrote an article published in The Way Magazine entitled “Navigating Pitfalls in Higher Education.” In this article, she expounds on common pitfalls for students in higher education and ways to overcome these challenges with God’s Word. This podcast interview builds on this article; here Abby gives an honest and heartfelt look into how, as a youth, she has been challenged and has overcome with God as her sufficiency in life. This interview is so encouraging for anyone who has gone through or is going through similar challenges, so be sure to listen in! LTWT 024: Preparing for Parenthood

“God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we could have life more abundantly. That’s our primary goal – to help our children see that and understand that through what we teach them, what we show them in how we treat them, and how we treat one another in our marriage relationship. As they see that, they can learn to love God and learn to love His Word, and we know that has the best chance of setting them up for success in life.” This episode gives an insightful look into transitioning into parenthood with a unique and pragmatic interview conducted by Hunter Mullins. Ministers and parents of three, Dr. and Mrs. Neal Kelly (Neal and Grace), who both also have backgrounds in the field of healthcare, answer timely questions about what the Word says about parenthood and give practical understanding about what the process of building a family looks like. With so much confusion in the world today about what God’s will is concerning parenthood and families, you won’t want to miss this episode filled with straightforward scripture and grounded insight into this topic. LTWT 021: A God-Centered Approach to Engagement and Premarital Preparations

“One of the things I thought about recently from one of the authors that I use, I think Dr. Ed Wheat, he says that marriage, you know, a loving, committed marriage, is a function of time and will. It happens over time. Marriage isn’t a product; it’s a process.” In this episode, Taylor Thurlow interviews Rev. Nik Maxson, a minister who has significant experience in Christian premarital counseling for engaged couples. They talk about some of the fundamentals of how an engaged couple can prepare for marriage, both physically and spiritually. And Rev. Maxson references several valuable resources, including scriptures, books, and websites, that can help a couple have greater success in this major life transition. Whatever phase of life you’re in, whether you’re about to get married, would like to get married someday, or even if you've been married for many years, you won’t want to miss this!
