Why You Were Chosen to Parent Your Child: Spiritual Parenting, Sensitive Kids & Generational Healing

What if there is a reason you were chosen to parent your child? In this episode of The Spiritual Parent, we go deeper into spiritual parenting, exploring the idea that our children may come into our lives for a reason—and that our own life experiences may have prepared us to understand the unique children we are raising. If you are parenting a sensitive, intuitive, gifted, intense, or neurodivergent child, you may sometimes wonder why this parenting journey feels so different. Why does your child need something different? Why do you seem to understand things about your child that other people don't always see? We talk about trusting your inner knowing while also using the valuable resources available to us through parenting experts, therapists, educators, and other professionals. You don't have to choose between outside guidance and your own intuition. You can learn from both—and recognize that you have important keys within you, too. We also explore generational trauma, breaking family patterns, and the powerful shift from simply healing what was passed down to recognizing and carrying forward our generational strengths and gifts. This episode closes with a grounding meditation and affirmation to help you release the pressure to have all the answers, reconnect with your heart, and trust the wisdom within you. You are not alone in this parenting journey. Your child may have come to you for a reason—and you may already have more of the answers than you realize. In this episode: -Spiritual parenting and intuition - Why your child may have chosen you - Parenting sensitive and intuitive children - Gifted and neurodivergent children - Trusting your inner knowing as a parent - Generational trauma and healing - Generational strength and family gifts - Parenting outside of societal expectations - Grounding and energetic practices - A meditation and affirmation for spiritual parents Send us Fan Mail New! Is It Anxiety or Intuition? How to Trust Your Inner Knowing as a Parent | Spiritual Parenting

What if that feeling in your body isn't anxiety… what if it's intuition? In this episode of The Spiritual Parent, Carrie explores the powerful connection between parenting intuition, inner knowing, spirituality, and listening to your body. As parents, we often question ourselves: Am I overthinking this? Am I anxious? Or is my intuition trying to tell me something? Carrie shares real-life stories from parenting her neurodiverse children and explores how intuition can show up through feelings, thoughts, body sensations, inner knowing, and those little moments when something simply feels “off.” You'll hear about trusting your gut as a parent, learning to distinguish intuition from anxiety, connecting with your body, meditation, journaling, nature, and what Carrie calls environmental meditation—using movement, nature, and the elements to reconnect with yourself. You'll also hear a personal story about following an intuitive nudge that led to an unexpected connection with a friend, along with practical ways to become more curious about the messages and feelings that arise within you. Most importantly, this episode is an invitation to not lose faith in yourself as a parent. Your intuition matters. Your body is communicating with you. And sometimes the first step is simply getting quiet enough to listen. Carrie also shares a simple self-love practice for parents: placing your hand on your heart, breathing deeply, and practicing saying, “I love myself” or “I love [your name].” Because spiritual parenting isn't about being perfect—it's about continuing to learn, grow, connect, and trust yourself through the ups and downs of the human experience. If you're a highly sensitive parent, spiritual parent, conscious parent, or parent raising neurodivergent or sensitive children, this episode is an invitation to slow down, get curious, listen to your body, and trust your inner knowing. Unleash the Frock: How Grounding Yourself Can Transform Your Parenting

In this episode of The Spiritual Parent, Carrie explores what happens when we stop trying to be the “perfect” parent and begin reconnecting with our true selves. Through her message of “unleashing the frock,” Carrie talks about releasing the expectations, conditioning, and energy we carry as parents—and how that can change the way we show up for our children. When our kids are overwhelmed, highly sensitive, emotional, or dysregulated, it’s easy to become activated right alongside them. But instead of trying to fix or control our child’s emotions, what if we grounded ourselves first? Carrie shares spiritual parenting tools for grounding, releasing difficult energy, connecting with your body and spirit, and helping your children learn to do the same. She also talks about highly sensitive children, emotional regulation, co-regulation, intuition, and the powerful reminder that our children often meet us where we are. Because spiritual parenting starts with us. If you're a conscious parent, spiritual parent, or raising a highly sensitive or emotionally intense child, this episode is an invitation to let go of the “frock,” reconnect with your authentic self, and let your true energy shine. Harnessing Supermoon Energy for Conscious and Spiritual Parenting Raising Neurodiverse Kids

Have your kids felt extra emotional, dysregulated, or “amped up” lately—and nothing you try seems to help? In this episode of The Spiritual Parent, Rev. Carrie Lingenfelter shares a real-time parenting experience during a powerful super moon, when big emotions surfaced in her highly sensitive, intuitive children—and in herself. What looked like meltdowns on the surface revealed something deeper: unhealed fear, old conditioning, and a mirrored invitation for growth. Carrie explores how moon energy, end-of-year transitions, and heightened sensitivity can impact highly sensitive kids, neurodivergent children, and spiritually aware families. She unpacks why full moons often lower our tolerance as parents, how control patterns get triggered, and what our children’s behavior is truly communicating beneath the chaos. This episode is an invitation to shift from fear-based reactions to conscious parenting, nervous system regulation, and heart-to-heart connection. You’ll learn how to recognize energetic triggers, why sensitive children are here to help us heal ourselves, and how to meet your child where they are—without suppressing who they came here to be. Carrie also shares a grounding affirmation you can return to during emotional waves, along with gentle practices like movement, nature-based regulation, and reflective awareness to support both you and your child during intense energetic periods. If you’re raising highly sensitive, gifted, intuitive, or emotionally intense children, this episode will help you feel seen, validated, and anchored—especially during full moons and emotionally charged seasons. *You’re not failing. *You’re evolving. *And your child is your greatest teacher.
