    Thanksgiving Arranges The Atmosphere

    Gratitude is everywhere, and yet so little of it lands anywhere. Phil Pringle makes a simple case that changes the whole practice: thankfulness has to be given to someone. To be thankful to nothing is not humility, it is impossibility. And when thanks is directed to God, it becomes the strongest antidote there is to a complaining, critical, sour spirit. Paul writes from prison that we give thanks always for all things, not simply in them, and he means it, because the chains that hold him become the very thing that carries the gospel into Caesar's household. Thanksgiving opens your eyes to the doors God is opening. Complaining opens your eyes only to everything that is wrong. There are three places to aim it. Thank God for your past, and Jesus walks back into your history and heals what you have been carrying. Thank God for your present, for the beautiful and the basic alike, and you live in continual celebration rather than continual grievance. Thank God for your future, specifically, for the things you are still asking Him to do, because vocal faith gives thanks before the answer arrives. Ten lepers are healed and one returns. A nine year old girl lies in a coma, written off by every doctor in the room, and the word of the Lord says she will not die. Thanksgiving arranges the atmosphere around your life.     Do Our Babies Go to Heaven? Chris Pringle's Story

    There is a grief that has no funeral, no photographs and no words, and so it gets shut away in a small room where nobody has to look at it. Chris Pringle knows that room. She lost a baby as a young mum, went straight back to work, and told almost nobody for twenty years, until an ordinary evening at home opened the door she had kept firmly closed. What followed was not simply a memory returning. It was a revelation of a son alive, grown and laughing in heaven, and of a God who had been keeping him all along. Jesus welcomes the little children, and heaven is fuller of them than most of us imagine. Chris and Phil tell the whole story here, from the sculpture of an angel carrying a child that Phil found in an American gallery, to the conference where women across an entire auditorium finally wept over losses they had never named, to the blue and pink cards that gave those children a name at last.     Peace Is a Person. Faith Is a Decision.

    How to Switch Off Anxiety in One Move

    Why can't we switch off the worry? It washes in uninvited, spins the mind, and leaves an aching void no amount of noise or entertainment can fill.
