Jessi Morgan Devotions for the Christian Heart Podcast

Jessi Morgan

Jessi Morgan in 2023 had a traumatic experience that shaped how she views life and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God has laid it on her heart to share her experiences and inspire others to put God first in every aspect of their life like she finally did in hers. Having her daughter born 4 months early really made Jessi lean on the Lord for comfort and guidance. And today she stands here starting her own 10-15 minute podcast focusing on weekly devotionals about what God can do for you and what He's done for her.

Finding Joy in Trials: How Hard Times Build Your Faith | James 1:1-4

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement… “Consider it nothing but joy” might be one of the most misunderstood commands in the New Testament, especially when you’re staring down real stress, real fear, and a season you didn’t choose. We open James 1:1–4 and talk about what that line actually means, why it’s not pretending everything is fine, and how tested faith can produce endurance that changes you from the inside out. That shift is where spiritual growth starts to become real. You’ll hear a track and field training analogy that makes endurance feel tangible, plus a practical exercise you can do today. If you’re looking for Christian encouragement, a short devotional on joy in trials, or a Bible study reflection on the Book of James, this is a steady place to land. Friendship Series: Holding You Accountable - The Friends Who Love You Enough to Tell You the Truth

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement… Some of the most loving words you’ll ever hear are the ones you don’t want to hear. We’re back with Episode 111 of Jessi Morgan Devotions for the Christian Heart, and Friendship Series Part 3 focuses on Christian accountability: the friends who care enough to tell you the truth with love, not heat. We start with a real-life moment where a “joke” on social media didn’t land like it was intended, and how a close friendship was repaired through an honest conversation, careful tone, and genuine repentance. It’s a reminder that what looks like “just social media” is often someone’s business, ministry, calling, and livelihood.  Then we turn to Scripture for a powerful model of biblical friendship: Nathan confronting King David after David’s sin with Bathsheba and the cover-up that followed.  If you’ve been praying for deeper Christian friendships, this devotional will help you look for “Nathan friends” and build community through church and Bible study. The Difference between Loyalty and Blind Allegiance

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement… The Friendship Series is here!  “Loyalty” is one of those words that can sound holy while doing real damage. When someone demands you prove loyalty by staying quiet, picking sides, or ignoring what’s wrong, that’s not Christian friendship, it’s blind allegiance. I’m Jessi Morgan, and I’m digging into a hard but freeing question: can you be loyal to someone and still tell them they’re wrong? I believe you can, and you should, because love without truth isn’t love, it’s fear. Then we go biblical with Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Beyond the blazing furnace story, Daniel chapter 2 shows loyal friends facing a life-or-death crisis without turning on each other.  If you’re sorting through complicated friendships, spiritual boundaries, or trust that’s been broken, this devotional offers clarity and hope rooted in Scripture. Shared Goals: Caleb & Joshua

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement… Some friendships fade not because anyone did something “wrong,” but because life starts asking different things of each person. If you have ever wondered why a friendship felt effortless in one season and strained in another, we get honest about what changes and what can still hold. We talk about shared goals as the quiet foundation of lasting Christian friendship and why “more friends” is not always better than a small circle with shared values and shared faith. Then we open Scripture and look at the biblical friendship of Caleb and Joshua. They saw the same giants as everyone else, but they chose courage and trust in God’s promise. Even after forty years of waiting in the wilderness, their shared faith kept them steady, and their companionship shows what it looks like to keep walking together when the timeline is long. If you are craving faith-based friendships that strengthen your spiritual growth, this devotional is for you. Transformation Is Not Comfortable

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement… Transformation sounds inspiring until you’re living it. I thought May would be a month of breakthrough, but it turned into a collision of IRS stress, a major job restructuring, and the kind of parenting decisions that keep you up at night. I’m sharing what it feels like when stability disappears overnight, projects you love get taken away, and you’re left trying to make sense of what God is doing in the middle of it all. If you’re walking through uncertainty at work, financial pressure, delayed answers, or a long season of waiting, this devotional is for you. We talk about trusting God’s timing, surrendering what we can’t control, noticing the blessings we miss when we’re anxious, and believing that closed doors can be protection not punishment. Listen, then share it with a friend who needs hope, subscribe so you don’t miss a weekly devotional, and leave a review if this message helps you keep trusting. Jealousy And The Scroll - REPLAY

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement… Jealousy doesn’t always show up as loud anger. Sometimes it’s a quiet, constant itch that keeps you scrolling, judging, and comparing your real life to someone else’s highlight reel. I’m Jessi Morgan, a home decor blogger who’s sharing more of my personal life and my love for the Lord, and I’m getting very real about a season when I followed an Instagram influencer I couldn’t stand and couldn’t stop watching. That mix of envy, resentment, and “why does she get that?” started to spill into how I saw my own life, and it was doing damage to my heart. We also open the Bible to Numbers 12, where Miriam and Aaron speak against Moses, and God makes it clear that jealousy and criticism are not harmless. From there, I challenge a modern habit that sneaks into our anxious moments: treating social media, celebrities, or Google like the place to find direction. When my daughter was in the hospital, my husband and I made a commitment not to Google complications, and I share why prayer and wise counsel anchored us when search results could not. If you’re tired of feeling not good enough after you scroll, or you’ve been looking for answers in all the wrong places, press play. Subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review so more hearts can find encouragement and truth. What are you counting? Numbers or Worry

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement… What if the thing you keep counting is the very thing stealing your peace? This week’s devotional lands on one of the most sobering moments in David’s life: the census in 2 Samuel 24 and what it reveals about fear, pride, and the need to feel in control. When I revisited this Scripture, it hit me in a fresh way, because the struggle isn’t ancient at all. Our world runs on numbers, and it’s easy to let totals and outcomes become the place we look for security. We unpack the tension between 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Chronicles 21, where Satan is named as the one who incites David. God allows testing, but David still chooses, and that same pattern shows up in our lives when anxiety, temptation, or pressure pushes us toward self-reliance. I also share a real-time battle with financial stress and tax season worries, and how constant “what if” counting can turn into a spiritual trap that never delivers calm. If you’ve been counting money, problems, limitations, or worst-case scenarios, let this be your reminder to stop taking a census and start trusting again. Subscribe, share this with someone who needs peace today, and leave a review if the message helps you. You have Strength & God sends Warriors

Text if you need me? Prayer or just need encouragement… David is back on the throne and the rebellions are over but something surprising happens in 2 Samuel 21: the warrior-king gets exhausted. That single line stopped me, because it tells the truth we often hide. Even faithful people get tired. Even strong people hit a moment where they cannot keep swinging the sword, and that is exactly where God can step in with provision that looks like a person.  We walk through 2 Samuel 21 to 23 and trace a clear pattern: strength, weakness, and the community God builds around us. I talk through David’s rescue by Abishai and what it teaches us about asking for help without shame. Then we shift into 2 Samuel 22, where David praises God with a song that mirrors Psalm 18 and I share what it looks like to worship through a hard week filled with parenting stress, work change, and financial pressure. The goal is not to pretend life is easy, but to notice where God is still moving while life feels heavy.  If you feel weak right now, I hope this devotional helps you see your support system as God’s kindness, and nudges you to praise Him anyway.  If this encouraged you, please subscribe, share it with a friend who needs hope, and leave a review so more people can find these weekly Christian devotions.
