Actually, Olympia

The podcast can be a little dry and corny (one step up from public broadcast), but it is informative and is a great attempt at connecting with a wider audience while making apparent the highly skilled and intelligent people that the City employs. I do wish there was more of a social media presence (Instagram) to better promote work that is being done or to promote/advertise this podcast more. For instance, I did not know about the many partnerships and projects that are ongoing in regards to the houseless crisis. On the flip side, the city of Vancouver, WA is very active on social media and does a terrific job of regularly showcasing accomplishments that are backed up with statistics as well as posting plans/proposals for more transparency. The fact that I did not know about many of the ongoing projects and accomplishments in Olympia that are highlighted in this podcast highlights a failure to utilize social media to regularly communicate with the public. This podcast would be much more successful in conjunction with a more robust social media presence.
