    Trash-Mex is for lovers! Valentine’s Day is coming up and we discuss two 1990’s Mexican films about unrequited love & the consequences of infidelity. Un Corazón Para Dos (1990) (A Heart for Two) Bernardo(Pedro Fernandez) longs to be with his friend Valeria, but he never seems to have the courage to propose his love for her. When Valeria is told she will need a heart transplant to become well again and Bernardo running out of time from his own illness—he makes the ultimate sacrifice to prove his true love for her. Mujeres Infieles (1995) (Unfaithful Women) 3 salacious tales of infidelity from directors Adolfo Martinez Solares & Gilberto Martinez Solares. Julieta (Lina Santos) tries to sneak in a gift from her lover Marcelo, but her plan might not exactly go as planned. When everyone around Clara (Claudia Vega) seems to have forgotten her birthday, she seeks attention from the man who’s working on her & her fiancée’s new apartment. An impulsive move that could lead to heavy consequences. Bored housewife Mariana (Elizabeth Katz) longs for companionship and responds to a personal ad from a charming man who might just be too good to be true. What was to be a small fling, becomes a bad time all-around for Mariana & her husband. First story: “A Debt of Panic” (Panico) Starring: Joaquin Cordero & Ariadna Welter - A couple move into a luxurious old home that may be haunted & much more horror arises when a secret is revealed. Second story: The Crypt of Terror” (Miedo Supremo) Starring: Jorge Martinez De Hoyos & Alicia Caro - A gloomy man gets trapped in a mausoleum and saves a woman who was mistakenly believed to be dead. One is an escaped mental patient and the other has very close ties to the forest home.Speaking of multiple psychos!     Well of course there are Mexican slasher films, but several titles that are labeled “slashers” aren’t even really slashers at all! In the 1st of 4 part episodes of “Oye Bro ¿Es Un Slasher?”, hosts Armando & Joey slash into: Panico En El Bosque (1990) set in a national park (or Bosque De Chapultepec), a killer is terrorizing park-goers and other troubles go on in the forest as well. The unseen vagrant killer seems to be protective of children & wants to keep any kind of trouble out of the park.Bosque De Muerte (1993) a group of young adults head out for a weekend trip to the secluded forest home of “Silvia”, who hasn’t been at the home since her mother died under mysterious circumstances and is estranged from her father. Just when the trip seems to be going normal, a storm suddenly hits & someone is stalking the group and one by one they end up killed. Silvia & her childhood friend/forest ranger “El Jaguar” must try to find a way to escape the killer.And to make the executions of these 2 films even more tasteful, we invited Lance & Erica of the Unsung Horrors podcast with a pre-recording of their thoughts on the films.
