Sonita is a World Champion, a European Champion, and the first woman to ever squat 700 pounds raw. No woman in any federation, tested or untested, has ever squatted more weight than she has. She's broken her own world record so many times she's competing against herself. In June 2026, at the IPF World Championships in Druskininkai, Lithuania, she walked out to break it again. A spotter deliberately put his knee under her bar and killed the lift. He later went on Instagram and admitted he did it because he's racist. She had publicly defended him before she knew.
