Whispers of Crime: Unsolved True Crime

Tochukwu Ezebube

What happens when a 20-year cold case suddenly breaks wide open? I'm Tochukwu Ezebube, and for the past 7 years, I've been digging into the darkest corners of unsolved murders that police gave up on. What started as a journalist covering local crime stories turned into an obsession that cost me sleep, relationships, and nearly my sanity. But it also led to something incredible: 3 cold cases reopened, 2 killers caught, and 1 innocent man freed. Whispers of Crime: Unsolved True Crime isn't just another true crime podcast. It's where forgotten victims finally get their voices heard and families get the answers they've waited decades for. Every week, I take you inside cases that will make your blood run cold: Serial killers who are still walking free (including one who lives closer to you than you think)Murder cases the police "closed" but never solvedMissing people whose disappearances hide shocking family secretsDNA breakthroughs that are changing everything we thought we knewI don't just tell you what happened. I show you the crime scene photos, play you the 911 calls, and take you inside the interrogation rooms where killers finally break down and confess sometimes. Warning: These aren't bedtime stories. Last week, a listener called to say my episode on the "Playground Killer" made her check on her daughter three times that night. Another wrote to tell me she solved a 15-year-old missing person case in her hometown after hearing my tips on spotting patterns. The victims trusted the wrong person. The families trusted the wrong system. The killers thought they got away with it. They were all wrong. If you can handle the truth about what people are really capable of, hit play. But don't listen alone. New episodes drop every Tuesday and Friday. Subscribe now because these cases won't solve themselves. 🔍 Real crimes. Real evidence. Real justice. 📱 Follow @WhispersOfCrime for case updates and breaking news ⚖️ Got a tip? Chicago Strangler: The Serial Killer They Refused to Name (2026 Update)

More than 50 women were found strangled across Chicago. Same method. Same outcome. No serial killer officially named. Between the early 2000s and late 2010s, bodies were discovered in abandoned buildings, alleyways, and vacant apartments across the city. Many victims were Black women. Many cases were quietly closed or ruled as isolated murders. But families and investigators began noticing disturbing similarities that pointed to something far darker. This episode dives deep into the Chicago Strangler case, examining the unsolved murders, strangulation patterns, possible serial killer behavior, and why law enforcement never publicly acknowledged a single suspect. We explore cold case evidence, victim timelines, crime scene similarities, and theories suggesting systemic failure, media silence, and missed connections. Was there one serial killer operating freely for years — or multiple killers hiding behind the same pattern? If you’re drawn to unsolved murders, true crime documentaries, and chilling serial killer investigations, this case will stay with you long after the episode ends. MAR 31

Unsolved Murder of Bernard Oliver: The Boy in the Suitcase (Suffolk, 1967)

Two suitcases discovered behind a hedge in a quiet Suffolk field contained the surgically dissected remains of 17-year-old Bernard Oliver. This grisly 1967 discovery sparked one of the most disturbing UK historical cold cases on record, stretching from a warehouse in Muswell Hill to the rural village of Tattingstone. Bernard vanished after a typical Friday night out in London, only to be found ten days later and eighty-five miles away. His body had been cut into eight pieces with such clinical precision that investigators immediately suspected a perpetrator with significant anatomical knowledge. This episode examines the disturbing forensic evidence, including the mysterious "P.V.A." initials painted on the luggage and the laundry mark that baffled detectives. We investigate the prime suspects, Dr. Martin Reddington and Dr. John Roussel Byles, whose links to a documented paedophile ring and sudden flights to Australia raise terrifying questions about institutional cover-ups. Despite new witness testimony in 2012 placing a man in surgical gloves near the scene, and a 2019 sighting of Bernard carrying the suitcases himself, the killer has never faced justice. MAR 27

Unsolved Murder of Anne Noblett: Body Found Frozen in Hertfordshire Woods (1957)

She stepped off the evening bus at Marshalls Heath and vanished within minutes. Thirty two days later, a frozen body was found in woodland near Whitwell, Hertfordshire. Anne Noblett was seventeen when she disappeared on 30 December 1957 after returning from a dance class in Harpenden. She was last seen walking along a dark country lane near the Cherry Trees bus stop, only a short distance from her family home. A local worker passed her on the road. Moments later, a car was reported idling on the same stretch of lane. More than a month later, Anne’s body was discovered carefully placed in Rose Grove Woods. Medical findings suggested she had been kept in artificial cold storage before being left there. The scene showed no sign of theft, and the careful positioning of her body raised questions that investigators were never able to answer. Despite one of the largest searches of its time, no one was charged. The Marshalls Heath murder remains a British unsolved murder and a defining 1957 murder UK file. Today it stands among the most studied UK historical cold cases and British true crime cases discussed across true crime podcast and crime podcast communities as a real crime story that still troubles Hertfordshire decades later.
