Getting Chatty about... Dancing with the Stars, Sydney Sweeney and the Novig ad

In our latest podcast episode, we kicked things off by catching up on our recent lives, noting that both of us ended up visiting Apple Hill. Dami sets up Halloween decorations, which urges them to share what their families are going to be for Halloween. In the news, we covered Zohran Mamdani suing the Trump administration over a new immigration rule, as well as Donald Trump brushing off the concept of an AI apocalypse as a hoax—which we naturally interpreted as a sign that things might actually be far worse than acknowledged. We also touched on the latest updates surrounding health insurance cuts and rising costs, followed by a quick breakdown of recent news involving JD Vance. In our "What We Choose" segment, we unpacked the controversial Sydney Sweeney Novig sports ad and the strong pushback it received from prominent female athletes. We then turned our attention to politics with Mitch McConnell's soft return, noting how he nearly sided with Democrats on the farm bill and highlighting that he had 92 days of paid leave. To wrap up the segment, we discussed Nikki Phillippi's decision to change her mind about adopting a child after discovering she wouldn't be allowed to feature them online during their first year. Finally, we shared our recent viewing lists. Danielle has been having projector movie nights with her boys, playing all the classics: Hook, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Frankenweenie, How to Train Your Dragon, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, all while keeping up with the Dancing with the Stars season two night kick-off. Meanwhile, Dami spent her screen time catching up on Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso and Dark Matter, along with Last Sunrise, DC's Lanterns, and comfort watching with Ina Garten: Back to Basics. What are you waiting for? Come hang with us! Getting Chatty about… Earle Meets World, Disneyland, and Polymarket

We are back and catching up on everything since we last cheers’d! Danielle’s packed itinerary included hitting the trail for a hike, heading to the drive-ins, playing the game of Jumanji while watching Jumanji, and taking a field trip to an A’s game where Forest and Wyatt became guest P.A.'s... core memories for sure! Meanwhile, Dami enjoyed a magical Disneyland trip filled with so many amazing moments and a Monster Jam pit party. Of course, we couldn't ignore the unhinged political circus, diving right into the latest Trump News regarding his wild AI posts, including his baffling claim that he was a 9/11 firefighter and also talked about the crazy federal court ruling that we don't have the right to clean water or information about our water supply... guys, how are things this corrupt?! We also break down the mistrial in the Clancy case, dive into the whole Polymarket and Not Skinny But Not Fat drama over seemingly less than genuine statement two days later (and the broader, gross trend of betting on awful murder trials). We discuss Harry and Meghan moving back to London alongside King Charles’ statement making it clear they are still not working royals and cannot use their titles. We giggle at South Park renaming their show to South America, and react to the Anthropic AI researcher resigning to warn the public while everyone continues using AI to see what they'd look like in the 80s (and ignore how much water AI uses). Our watchlists have been totally stacked lately! Danielle picked back up with her Vampire Diaries rewatch on HBO (wait, ELENA DIES?!?) after watching Sinners on HBO (WOW!). She also watched Earle Meets World on Netflix, Coyote vs. Acme at the drive-ins (so much nostaglia), rewatched A Teacher on Hulu, Over the Garden Wall on Disney+ (an absolute first-time watch shocker!), cheered on the 49ers while watching them beat the Rams (bang bang niner gang!), and somehow ventured into the discussion of the AMAZING (according to Danielle) 2006's Stay Alive. Meanwhile, Dami kept it tuned into Apple TV with Ted Lasso and Dark Matter. Tune in for the full rundown! Instagram: @news.wwc Danielle IG: @danielledene Dami IG: @damiana.pierce

Getting Chatty about… Furious, Dancing with the Stars cast, and the Clancy Trial

Grab your favorite drink because this episode is packed! First up, we’re catching up on life since we last cheers’d. Danielle is diving into her boys' obsession with Home Depot and Lowe's animatronics, Dollar Tree crafts, family portraits, and a massive Instagram purge, while Dami hits up a cute German spot on the estuary, goes bike riding, and plans trips to both Disneyland and Monster Jam. We dive into the latest WTF Trump headlines, including selling off Yosemite real estate and the wild map updates surrounding "Lake America" that sent MapQuest straight to number one. Over in What We Choose, we unpack the ongoing Clancy trial deliberations (at the time of recording, the mistrial verdict had not been announced), a wild jury intimidation arrest, and the chilling parallels to The Housemaid. We also talk about the appalling First Amendment protection of AI child material and the wild story of a fake 49er who conned 26 women out of $1.3 million. Plus, in our (Not So) Conspiracy Corner, we check out the mysterious missing island that suddenly appeared out of nowhere! For some good news worth sippin' on, we celebrate Olivia Rodrigo donating 100% of her epic Daisy Chains Music Festival proceeds to women's charities. Finally, we break down everything on our watchlists: Danielle shares her thoughts on the AMAZING Furious series, The Shards, Adults, Vampire Diaries, the Love Island reunion fail, Are You Afraid of the Dark launching on Tubi, The Last Sunrise, and the new Dancing With The Stars cast announcement, while Dami gives updates on Lanterns, Ted Lasso, and House of Stassi. Getting Chatty about… Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, and The Vampire Diaries

Get ready for another episode packed with updates, wild news, and all our latest watches! Since we last cheers'd, we catch up on our goings-on over the past week. Their kids are both back in school, but that doesn't mean a lot of fun wasn't had. Danielle and her boys have been baking monster cookies, hosting game nights with Jenga-master Wy, surviving the heat wave with a crafting weekend, and taking their 6th visit to Spirit Halloween—and it's not even September yet! Dami also shares her son surviving a painful splinter that almost sent them to urgent care. After catching up, we dive into the report that Trump had flags lowered to half-staff for Dolly Parton despite his history of defunding programs she supported. We also unpack all the wild developments in the Lindsay Clancy trial—from freelance writer Brittany Ramano being dropped by Vanity Fair after her controversial courtroom behavior, to defense attorney Kevin Reddington bringing to light that investigators primarily relied on statements from her husband, Patrick. Additionally, we cover the controversy surrounding the Callaway DV commercial and Costco pulling their products, an evil Cat in the Hat terrorizing Ireland, and the heavy news of the passings of iconic stars Dolly Parton and Tim Curry. Finally, for what we watched: Danielle continued her Vampire Diaries rewatch alongside spooky movie night picks like Goosebumps, The Descendants, and Zombies, as well as cautiously introducing her boys to Are You Afraid of the Dark? Dami has been tuning into Lanterns, checking out the first episode of My Brilliant Career on Netflix, enjoying Ted Lasso, finishing Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros, and starting All That Life Can Afford by Emily Everett. Getting Chatty about... the Lindsay Clancy Case, Halloween, and DC Lanterns

We’re back with another episode, catching up on everything that’s happened since we last cheers’d! We chat about our own lives filled with movie nights, swim lessons, back-to-school shopping, Spirit Halloween visits, Ladder workouts, enjoying San Francisco nights, and kicking off Fall with all things pumpkin spice. In this week’s "What The F**k Trump News," we take it back to 2017 with Trump's Inaugural address sounding like the exact same speech from the Bee Movie. We then pay our respects to Hayden Panettiere, discuss the awful statement released by her estranged mother, react to the massive Penn State cocaine bust, and give an update on the Lindsay Clancy case—including the judge’s abrupt halt to the trial leaving the jury dismissed with a warning "not to speculate," and how the prosecution may have inadvertently helped the defense. On a brighter note, our "Good news we’re sippin’" highlights the inspiring Maja Kristin and her generous donation to teachers in Marin County. Finally, in "What We Watched," Danielle continues her Vampire Diaries rewatch, in honor of Hayden Panettiere watches Scream 4, ticks away at the Halloween Collection on Disney+, and breaks down the new Sons of Anarchy show announcement, while Dami tunes into House of Stassi, the new Lanterns show on Disney+, and still trucking along with Euphoria.
